I use this book, lessons and a few of my own methods to learning and I am really happy with my progress. I firmly believe this book series has helped with advancing faster than any other method of learning short of jamming thanks Ed!

I have my bass around stomach height not low but not to high, where it's comfortable for me...when you wear something to look cool you are doing it to please others which is really uncool I think... Wear it how you want.

I couldn't imagine doing 124 but I guess being 6,3 with huge hands helps I found after working my stretch playing in the first position isn't hard.

Honestly those are perfect I'm trying to get off tab it was a bit of an addiction. I don't care about genre or song I just want fun songs to practice to with standard notation.

Book two has 1-2-3-4 introduced into it.

Even if it take you longer then an hour to progress it's still progress. As said before music is a language which takes time just keep up the hard work and realize baby steps are still steps forward.
