Y Yes i did that.. it should be 1994 or 5.but is it normal to have the serial engraved at the heel part of the neck...i will test the bass myself..mind you the vvt knobs are metal a la squier...which made me doubt a little...anyway thanks for the feedback

Check the fender american deluxe p around 2004...i had the five string version. It has a large bridge pick up...a la musicman ..

The p bass pickups...are punchy .with great mids. The j pickup is great ...the mix is well balanced

42 mm bone nut. Thin u shape neck.

It s in between a jazz and a p...very comfortable...go for it...the only downside to me is the fatory relic job...heres a picture of mine...changed the pickguard from white to black.

It is like putting a piece of foam under the strings at the bridge. This cuts the sustain of the note...some bassists mute by using the palm of their right hand to touch the strings. The outcome is nice and funky.

The bass mute is a brilliant idea...need to find one....flats are also on my list...this bass is incredible in terms of quality and sound. The only negative is the relic thing....but i can live with it. I actualy thought of stripping it to natural .....it would look great...i think...maybe i do it

Just noticed a screw whole...in the third picture...they did shift the machine head

It looks very nice in black. It is also my favorite bass. I am attaching close ups of the drop d. Dont know the brand as i bought it like that. I will contact the guy and get back to you. I just noticed that the machine head was shifted down slightly to install it. Here are some pics
