Sennheiser new portable wireless EW-DP receiver - suitable for pedalboard/bass use?

I had that issue until I cranked the output gain up on the receiver to match that of using a cable. I think I have it around +30 dB.

    Modeler -> DI, why?

A lot of modelers don't have balanced outs. (HX Stomp does via 1/4" TRS, but my Boss and Zoom units for example are unbalanced 1/4" TS)

    Synth Bass Pedal recs?

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but for me nothing comes even close to the Boss SY-300/1000 (I haven't tried the SY1 or 200). I still have barely scratched the surface of how to use the thing after several years - though I haven't spent much time really trying either. Every other guitar or...

Ibanez Ergonomic Headless Bass (EHB) club

It was a huge pain involving heat shrink tubing and breaking a string the first time. At some point I would like to come up with a better solution, but I don't know when I'll get around to it. They've been stable since December though so I hope not to have to think about it for a number of...

I put labella white nylon tapes on my 1005F and it's fabulous. I don't plan on trying anything else, but I do keep a set of their metal LTF's in the gig bag as backups just in case.

    I need a battery powered small amp/spkr

My Everse 8 is great but if I were buying today I would probably try the QSC CB10 that just came out. I also have a JBL Eon One Compact - it sounds good but is maybe half the volume of the Everse 8 for about the same price.

    A practice amp riddle.

The R40 is larger, but lighter than the R25. The 25 weighs as much as the 100 because of the MDF cab.

    A practice amp riddle.

I use an Everse 8 for that, but it's not cheap. 17 lbs and battery powered with 3 channels though... My personal pick would be the Yamaha DBR10 but they're back up to $410 (they were $349 in December). Maybe an Alto TS408 ($275) or one of these Mackie's on sale right now for $249 would be good...

Why are most amp video reviews awful? Am I missing something?

I've been surprised for years that people don't use re-amping devices with standard DI stems to compare/review any components downstream from the instrument. Pedals, preamps, cabs, mics, whatever... Why not feed them the exact same signal every time? The technology isn't complicated or expensive...

Need advice for combo amp with small footprint

The cup/guitar holder is quite clever. Who makes it? I typically throw a yoga block under my cab, but the slant board is probably a better option.

The R100 also has the speaker mounted in the center, with ports below on each side, rather than offset. It's a different cabinet (wider and shorter than the Fender, because of the different speaker/port arrangement), probably made of heavier material, with a different speaker, not even remotely...

    Fender Rumble Club

Why are you comparing to the Rumble 200 and not the 100? If the cabs were really the same, then that would be the comparison to make. The Rumble 100 is dramatically lighter than the Cort and not the same size, either. R100: 419 x 470 x 356 mm, 10 kg CM150: 440 x 440 x 360 mm, 17 kg It's 70%...

Backbeat Club - For Those Who Silently Rumble

The "coming soon" app not existing for years, for example - and still not existing for non-Apple users, and still not having much functionality even if you drink the apple kool-aid... Otherwise I'm mainly parroting the complaints about the G2 headphone amp and the "must be looking at it to...

Backbeat Club - For Those Who Silently Rumble

I suspect that most, if not all, of you guys live in an entirely different musical world than mine. I'm in amateur hour territory. No sound checks, no rehearsals, no sound techs, no subwoofers, etc. I wish I could experience playing with real professionals some day. To the extent that anyone is...

Backbeat Club - For Those Who Silently Rumble

These look interesting. Sounds like it's still not ready for prime time, but I'm posting here to remind myself to keep tabs on it. I'm incredibly sensitive to volume and prefer playing with a totally silent stage (including e-drums) - and especially practicing that way, with no PA or anything...

Recommendations Needed: Preamp/DI pedal for Live Use

I have the little Fishman platinum pro eq as my backup/simple "rig" option. Has tuner, mute, variable boost, eq with parametric mids, and variable hpf - and runs on a 9V battery. Also has 1/4" out with independent volume control for use with a stage amp/monitor, and an effects loop. Hard to beat...

Small Fender Rumbles vs Small Peavey MAX

The Rumble 40 is also lighter than the Rumble 25, because it's made of thin plywood instead of thick MDF. That being said, my small amp is now an Everse 8. 17 lbs, battery powered, 3 channels, plenty of bass response and volume for me. A lot more money than a Rumble 40 though...

Modeler pedalboard as the one and only?

I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do, but last night I used my Boss SY-1000 for a gig and it certainly has more than enough sounds for anything I ever do... too much, if I'm being honest, it's kind of overwhelming. Previously I have been fine with just a Zoom B1four, but for this...

Engage the vintage button for a HPF of sorts, crank the master, and then use the gain knob as your volume knob. Seems to work fine with my Rumble 100 if I need it to be obnoxiously loud. I'm probably going to do that for a show next week, depending on what the PA/backline situation ends up being.

Are the cavities not shielded from the factory? I haven't opened mine up but it's certainly on the noisy side depending on the environment. I have been assuming that the problem was in my amp or pedals.

UPS seems to have lost one of my 10-2 cabs. The other one sounds nice I guess. I only tried it for a few minutes so far with a Darkglass Exponent 500 (underwhelming) and a TC BH250 which sounds better. I'm still leaning toward returning them (assuming the 2nd cab ever shows up) for a magellan...

Amp recommendations for household practice/recording/with a PA for small gigs

I recently got an EV Everse 8 battery powered PA speaker and have used it for this kind of thing with whatever little preamp pedals in front of it. 16.x lbs and the battery lasts all day. It works on the floor kicked back or on a small speaker pole. Mostly I'm using a Zoom B1four, but I am...

How much can you use an amp/cab before returning it?

Yeah, just delete the whole thread and ban me seems to be the answer. I don't know what I'm doing wrong or how to fix it, but trying to do the right thing certainly isn't working. I have a problem and will likely solve it via suicide soon enough. I'm tired of nobody understanding a word I say or...

How much can you use an amp/cab before returning it?

So no one here has ever returned anything that they have tested out and just plain didn't like? The moment you lay hands on it, you change the condition and break the official terms. I haven't done it, but I assumed I was the weird one. That's why I asked.
  38. V

How much can you use an amp/cab before returning it?

It's still going to be identifiable as not brand new in that case. So we're talking about a matter of degrees? That's what I was asking about.
  39. V

How much can you use an amp/cab before returning it?

Yeah, so taking it out of the box is already beyond the stated policies. I have read that already. It's my understanding that people don't follow it to the letter like that.

How much can you use an amp/cab before returning it?

There's a whole spectrum of conditions between "new in sealed box" and "dinged up and road rashed" - apparently, as usual, I wasn't clear in asking my question. I didn't need help in finding the official policy or knowing that I can't beat the things to hell. I thought that would have been obvious.
