I put labella white nylon tapes on my 1005F and it's fabulous. I don't plan on trying anything else, but I do keep a set of their metal LTF's in the gig bag as backups just in case.

My Everse 8 is great but if I were buying today I would probably try the QSC CB10 that just came out. I also have a JBL Eon One Compact - it sounds good but is maybe half the volume of the Everse 8 for about the same price.

I've been surprised for years that people don't use re-amping devices with standard DI stems to compare/review any components downstream from the instrument. Pedals, preamps, cabs, mics, whatever... 1.2A at 12V is sticking to the data sheet... The full size QC uses (a lot) more power and people seem to be confusing the two.

Easy to test. Does the DI (on post for the 800) sound the same on each with the same settings? If so, the difference is in the speakers.

Engage the vintage button for a HPF of sorts, crank the master, and then use the gain knob as your volume knob. Seems to work fine with my Rumble 100 if I need it to be obnoxiously loud. I'm probably going to do that for a show next week, depending on what the PA/backline situation ends up being.

Are the cavities not shielded from the factory? I haven't opened mine up but it's certainly on the noisy side depending on the environment. I have been assuming that the problem was in my amp or pedals.
