I haven't been able to get Spencer to ship my order of 5 knobs and an Anima preamp. I've bought from him before with no issues and the items were supposed to be in stock, but it's been over a month and crickets. At this point I just want my money back, so I emailed him requesting that he cancel the order, but no response. I've opened a PayPal dispute, which he hasn't responded to either.
I really hate to be the guy to air dirty laundry, but I would caution anyone from ordering from him until he gets this sorted out...

) and from what I've read here and other sites is that it's the same basis for the v4 just with the additional features. With that I can say its the easiest to dial in any style of funky and bubbly sound and it's really hard to make it sound bad. I don't have any experience with the other filters you mentioned except the Microtron, which I had very similar experiences as you. I was a longtime Xerograph user, but mainly used it for the exp control. But I started to veer away from that and wanted a more traditional filter. Very happy with the Chromatron now. Super smooth response, dummy-proof controls (for someone like me), really nice round response that you can dial in and out a nice snap. If the v4 is the same, I'd think you'd enjoy it a lot. That price though? I can't say I've never paid more for a single pedal so... I dunno
