Does anyone know what the exact setting of the toggle switch is for the 4-94, or 44-02? Sounds like (right)=single coil (middle)=series (left)=parallel. I cant find anything on this.

Hi Dave! No, I've decided against the 55-02, I tried one with the new lakland configuration, awesome bass but not what I'm after at the moment. I'm going to go with a Sadowsky with single coils, that's more my thing.

Great looking 55-02! Killer bass.

it's the same as the 55-94 or 55-02. The specs are on lakland's site

I've just started talking with Brian Gingrich (one of the luthiers at lakland, i think) about making me a DJ5 in lake placid blue witha maple fingerboard and ebony block inlays (check my GAS list hehe)

I've only played DJ 4 skylines though, so can people tell me what their American DJ5's are like?

I checked out Lakland because all I heard was how great these basses were. So I finally got a Black with maple board 55-02 and fell in love. I had to give that bass back to it's owner (I was just borrowing it to check it out) and got this one:

I usually string it up with Daddario XL's.

I run it through a SS BBE pre-->QSC PLX-1600--> two SWR GIIIs.

I will say that you cannot find a better made bass for anywhere close to this price range. I was playing a $2200 Fender that IMO couldn't compete with this beast in terms of sound and construction. The only instrument made as well in this price range is Music Man.
