I think I've just re-aquired my gas....does that still have the korean pre-amp in it or did that get upgraded too? how do the nordies sound in conjunction with the pre?

Hey Bill; how deep is that neck pup solo'd?
I really like the pup placement on this bass: bridge pup not too close to the bridge as to make it "Jaco only-ish," neck pup nicely on towards the neck to help thicken that up too.
Pre is a Lakland factory installed NTMB-L. So far i'm liking the NTMB/Nord DC combo, although it seems to me the Bart pre has an very warm/smooth sound. If i didn't already have the NTMB installed i think i would have gone with an Audere, i have really liked what i have heard from them.I think I've just re-aquired my gas....does that still have the korean pre-amp in it or did that get upgraded too? how do the nordies sound in conjunction with the pre?

compared to the MK1's (which i thought were pretty good), these Dual Coils are nice sounding soloed. with the series/single coil/ parallel switching, 3 band pre and passive choices these pickups really can cover alot of ground. and it's not just alot of choices, but i think the various sounds are good sounds, not just alot if sounds.
As for the depth of the Bridge soloed, i think in series with a little bass boost the bridge pickup soloed sounds great, very punchy.

I am a Laklander to be (I have two on order White DJ4 with J-retro) and an Amber 55-02 with RW fret board)...I promise to post pics when they come (Feb and March)...in the meantime, I wait, and wait and wait and wait.......if I had known JMaine before I ordered, his ex-JO probably would have ben mine....oh well....![]()
Nice! How's the neck pickup? Is it fatter - more low end - than a J pickup...P pickup?
Sorry for all the questions, just a little excited.
First off I'm not a neck pickup soloed kind of guy. But the tighness of the DC's low end has me using it soloed a bit. That's saying alot from me, that's not a setting I normally use at all.
