I emailed Fender today about the Starcaster and they said they should be arriving in the store in about 2 weeks. They suggested I contact a retailer to see when they will be available for sale.

>…starting bid of $1000 and didn't sell...
Coronado never was a big mass instrument in the first place (I mean no much appeal to most players); then, some are good some not. I drool over one (so much so that I already paid my reissue in full and it will arrive end of october). But I would never bid in the blind on one...

It looks like the pickups on the new coronado are the same as the Carbinta...
According to Fender, the new offshore made Coronado and Starcaster guitars and basses are due to be released in October. Will be interesting to see how they are.
Funny to see how hard it is for everyone to "MADE IN CHINA" (rather then offshore) and "interesting" in the same post...![]()
It did sell! I grabbed that one locally, He had it listed in craigslist at the same time. It's a cool bass, I can't wait to try a new one though. I know they're going to be great.there was a gorgeous Coronado II bass on ebay last week with starting bid of $1000 and it didn't sell

by your apparent disgust for the "apple model" do you simply mean building stuff cheaply in china and then selling at a huge profit? because that I can understand. but surely you don't fault companies just for trying to make a profit...? that's not inherently a bad thing.
Ahhhh great score! I wanted it badly but didn't have the cash! Shoot me a message if you ever want to get rid of it!

Wow, the new Coronado and Starcaster semi-hollow basses look pretty awesome, although $750 street for a Chinese-made bass is a bit steep (not too bad, but a little steep). I wonder if the price includes a case?
