Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

Ya...my ultimate ball buster was sight reading on fretless......i dunno about you but......it was almost impossible for me.

Awesome piece of wood right there. Im looking at some of my bass' with some plyers right now ready to be the horror movie bass dentist.

And yes...20k pedalboard....no music.....hmmmmmm.....i rest my case.
My sight reading sucks, and it would suck even if I played a one-string bass with lighted dayglo frets.

the stoner and doom thread... home of the dirt doctors and master of the black arts of fuzz...

it totally is.
Stoner and doom

Oh jeez no.....the fuzz n dirt vortex.....
294i58394o4oei4u4 choices
8485838294i9593 opinions
8584i384i4i combinations of secret doom fuzznessineezzzz

( dont take what I say tooo seriously now ;)

Yep. Pop corn cab time!!

(Inside joke from another one of "those" threads)

Funny you mentioned the fretless pages, been thinking about to dive back into the fretless deep end again.....wow those are hard to get around on.
I had an “easier” time on upright....please exclude high thumb position and arco.....

Jeezzzz....i can barely get by on a regular 4 string.....

Edit: I also find the “pedalboard” thread a gas, as in entertaining not G.A.S.... huge monster boards squeaky clean, can’t see one cable or power supply no dust.......never gigged. Pure awesome. And the Broughton dudes who get up a 4 am to smash the refresh button to get stuff online.....MORE POP CORN PLEASE!!!

To each there own I guess. Who am I to say.....that’s right,,,,,,Ima nobody.

:)

Thanks for reminding me, here’s my squeaky clean monster board :D

Dust free too...

My monster board(s) aren't all that squeaky clean but they definitely are monsters.

Judging others is a bad look especially when all of us live in glass houses. I find it funny when someone who has a handful (or more) of basses makes a comment about a large pedal board...or makes a comment about having pedals that aren't on a board or money spent. Even players who make comments about gigging vs not gigging...its like people have no self awareness at all.

5 $300 basses collecting dust in a case hidden from wives or moms or whatever is the same thing as a $1500 board of pedals except you can use all the pedals at the same time whereas those junk basses cant be sold and dont get played, but I digress. These forums are for us to enable each other, not chop each other down...in my opinion.

There’s also “having a sense of humour” with your bass buddies.
No harm or judging intended. No chopping either...
Nothing better than laughing at ones self, good for the funny bone.

Cheers!!!
