Awright, finally. Here's one of the tracks from that synth night thing that my duo had its first gig at, a few weeks ago.

My gear on this ... Moog Subsequent 37, MPC Live, and Virus TI2. No bass, on this one.

Very cool, I like the different textures and the build up. Big thumbs up for going out of the "comfort zone " by not using bass. I freakn love that, creats new ideas.

Wrapping up another non-ambient track. Getting funky with The Finger by Native Instruments. What a nifty tool that is.

Got approached today about a soundtrack/video game project. This could get fun.

Great news, ill check “the finger” looks like an interesting tool.

Drummer in my band uses the ottobit jr with just about everything, synth, drumpads, vocals. It is such a great little thing.

What is your patching for effect pedals on vox? Straingt into mixer....use aux...mic preamp...????
I'm curious because there are so.many ways of doing this.

Thanks. I still haven't decided if this is gonna stay a synth-only thing or if I'll incorporate the bass/board. Been reluctant, mostly because it's that much more gear to set up and lug around, and my footprint's already pretty big with the synths.

Id try and find what works best for you.
Both set ups have the potential for different textures sounds and outcomes.
Big ups again, awesome work right there. You can tell both of you are closely listening to each other and reacting accordingly and coherently.

Yeah, we had it all mapped out, I'm surprised we pulled it off. We have our next one coming up on the 11th.

I knew you’d be interested
The info page says you can run it with the free Reaktor Player software. It’s still a $69 plugin.

I haven’t learned it well enough to sound design or play it live, but it’s fun to program using the presets.

Damn...gonna check all that out later tonight......that thing is insane and exactly what I was looking for......except it’s software.

Live sound manipulation of my studio lab stuf........and you can use it in Ableton....

I have not been up to date with Squarepusher's material since his collab with Z machines, but got this new video recommended today, and got pretty excited to see what he's been up to

Anyone using a Ottobit Jr.?

Ive got one on my board. I am currently using it for bit crushing and a bit of synth maddness w filter sweeps. I am sending MIDI through a Meris MIDI and plan to dig in way deeper and use the sequencer, stutter feature and even program some distortion pres (thing gets gnarly if you want it to).

I use it for bass and have just started experimenting running drone synths through my board.

My only gripe about the ottobit jr is lack of volume control/mix. The ottobit is hot and it sounds best when I lower the volume w a mixer in my ES-8. Tones are sublime though...I run it into a Hedra for some pitch fun too (Hedra octave down is KILLER)
