Likewise, I can't help with the mixer question, because I'm currently using a Yamaha 01V which is most definitely not portable for onstage gigging purposes. Sure has some fun features though!
Am I misremembering, or did Mackie some time in the last ~10 years stop having all the really useful/functional features on their small-format mixers and replace them with models that only had stupid crap on them? I feel like every time I go looking for a 1402VLZ-equivalent all I find is some Behringer knockoff. But admittedly I haven't been paying too much attention to Mackie or the small-format mixer industry lately.

Apropos of nothing: Way back in the early 1990s when I sucked up my pride and took a 3-month gig as the GB bassist on a cruise ship, I met and occasionally hung out with George Lynch's dad (also named Bob). Really nice guy, very funny, and extremely proud of his son's accomplishments. He was a professional gigolo. I am not kidding.
I like 90120 a lot. There are several tunes on Big Generator that I admire/appreciate a lot. Arguably if they weren't Yes albums (in name) they would get more credit, because the playing and production is as good as if not better than 90% of the stuff that came out at the same time...but that Yes moniker means they got held to a different standard.
Not sure I can stomach anything else they did with Trevor Rabin in the fold.

My Mom's been deaf in one ear ever since I can remember, she got hearing aids that transmit sound from the non-hearing ear to the "good" ear, which also needs a lot of help now. When she takes here aids out for the night and sleeps with her "good" ear against the pillow, not even Deep Purple playing at her bedside could wake her ... bit dangerous if a fire etc were to break out... wouldn't even hear her two deaf-dogs barking (one deaf from birth, the other through age).
Beethoven, Django Reinhardt, Evelyn Glennie, Tony Iommi, Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät... whatever their challenge, there are many musicians to take inspiration from.

the other *potential* benefit of the capacitive keyboard could be if you can bend the pitch using it—especially if you can get different pitch changes per note. might be able to get some microtonal stuff out of it?
obviously this is conjecture.
it would also be nice to know if the pitch strip on the mf is like the hs. if it is you might be able to hold a chord (three notes here) and play theremin melodies on the top.
looks like it also has vocoder ability (firmware update), which might be nice for you?
Yeah. Saw a demo where the guy held a chord and used the strip to glide it up and down.
Also saw the vocoder, but did not delve into it yet.
Seems to be my best choice for the $ atm.
I can't help with the mixer, either, as, unless I'm playing my synths out somewhere (something that was rare before all this), I go direct into my interface, then to the PA.

My friend, sit down and listen cuz the ones I’ve met have the most insane stories for days.
Last one I met was a retired ex prison director that was driving bus with me last year. Worked 35 years in the cities biggest prison. I had coffee with him every morning with him last winter. I just sat and listened, picked up my jaw from the floor and went back driving for the rest of the day. He was such a cool guy.

Don't expect all the tracks to sound like this though, cause I use a lot of different composition and recording methods for creating tracks for this project.
So even if all the tracks with this project is undeniably related in some way and from the same sort of universe the individual tracks between embraces a wide variety of different expressions.
Some are purely electronically founded, some are created from manipulated physically recorded tracks, which might include a lot of different instruments, or just one single one like in this case, some are hybrids between these two forms, some are ugly, unsettling, noisy and abrasive, while others are beautiful, comforting, calm and soothing, some are more drone than ambient, and some are more ambient than drone, and a few are almost closer to something that could be considered noise music, some with lyrics, others not, some sung, some spoken word, some with my own voice, some with a text to speech synthesize program, all sharing a common soul though, and most of them being in the darker and more experimental end of the musical spectrum.

Some careful cutting, copy, pasting and a bit of cross fading from the recorded bass track in a DAW, using a time stretch effect from a wav editor program and various VST effects in my DAW, as far as I recall utilizing several tracks as well, initially though it was just a single 1 track recording of me playing harmonics on my bass, impro style, I think through a phaser and a flanger effect pedal mixed in parallel via my Boss LS-2.
I don't remember the exact details of how I created it though, and I might have got some of the stuff above wrong as well.
