Serious question: are you affiliated with MXR? Or do you just really like their stuff that much? I'm not criticizing...just curious.

it’s a live improv using the 0-coast, 0-cntrl and strega.
I like the évolutive aspect of it.
Abrasive/dark/gritty without being harsh.

actually something I’m striving for atm, but doubt/practice/failing are the norm these days
I just really like their products that much. They might not be the best but they always work and have a quality sound and and are well made.

I have a guitar player friend who is seriously blessed financially, so he owns a crazy amount of boutique pedals. Mostly delays and reverbs. Like a crazy amount. He recently did a shootout of about a dozen delay pedals to pick one for his live board for upcoming shows. His favorite turned out to be an MXR Carbon Copy.
I would venture to say most great music

RE vs. the aformentioned E520:
i had a E520, sold it.
after i played my Bass thru it, and found i had more latency with the E520, than playing my bass roundtrip thru my M1mac. (it was not a "spectral" preset, i used )
it looks like a VERY good value, compared to what you get, if you bought some Strymon pedals, or similar. But it looks "to me" like a plain waiste of money, if "I" ´d compare it with what my M1mac can do for me in regards to FX ( playing roundtrip), and for how much such a mac can be had. ( yes, .......then, you sit in front of a PC again )

i´m (mostly) donne with Hardware !.....especially when we talk FX.
things have become now so powerful within the Box with the M1macs, and some specific software. Everything else feels for me like a waiste of time.

In software we see linear progress. In hardware, we jump from box to box. I´m personally donne with that. the whole computer + software aspect has just reached a level......2021 IS *finally* my year of complete gamechange vs. my "own idealistic perspective". Its nailed now !

I nolonger enjoy too much to deal with my modular or samplers.

...inclouding some tube-thingies (homestudio based setup, no amps)

I could see guitarists having great uses with it.

For my personaly "modular-synth" making music, have i had no big uses with the E520.
I can take out way more with other euro FX. E520 was too big for my taste for euro. Its a HP thing. edit: and a "acess to the parameters" thing.
I´d see it more in a dedicated FX skiff !......while not so much in a "synth - based" rack
I have more, sorry, but you might like the next point:
my big find in 2021, ...i was late, it was mid/end Dezember:
VCV Rack2 !
its now also VST capable. Not in the freeware version, only the payed one.
It means, you...."I"....can load VCV2 into my VST Host, and incorporate a software Eurorack kind of clone into my patchings together with other, common plugins.
But its even better, "you" can also load common VST plugins *into* VCV2. ( which is not what i necessarily use for now)
so far, for me, the power of VCV Rack2 is immens !!
and has directly become a big part of the whole inTheBox package, to finally say goodby to Hardware (to the bigger part). At least for the FX - Jam thing ! ( i use ofcourse enough HW midi controllers, giving me absolutely the capabilities to create a Hardware type of feel )

audio, pitch2 V/oct tracking works fine with my Bass ! stunningly good.

The free modules really deliver allready a HUGE amount of functionality ! really !
The computer has to have some power. A M1mac is perfectly well suited. older macbooks seem not so much ( Fan goes on / heavy graphics load it seems)

Just got in today a 30" Ibanez Talman. 30" is definitly a good size for me.

But i won´t go below 22"/23" i´d figure.

I had an E520 for a while too. It's great, but like Funky40, I found myself replacing it with software. My main interest in it was for the spectral processing, and once I really sat down with Unfilitered Audio SpecOps and learned it inside and out, I could duplicate most of my favorite things I was doing with the E520 (except the spectral looper... I hope someone comes up with an more advanced and controllable version of that in plugin form someday). Since the E520 is so big I wound up selling it to free up space for other things.
I will say working with the E520 taught me some new tricks to try with SpecOps though, and made me better at using it. That's been my experience in general -- doing things in hardware teaches me how to do it better in software, and sometimes vice versa. Getting Arturia Buchla Easel V changed the way I patched my Eurorack stuff, for instance. (I even keep some of my same habits and favorite modules when I do stuff in VCV. I'm thinking of buying the $5 Maths clone "Graphs" just because I like Maths so much more than Rampage!)
