that's very common practice, and generally a good thing. anti-vibration damping.
Takes the vibrational stress of solder joints, keeps vibrational noise down, and keeps parts from coming loose and breaking.
Thought I would blow the dust out of my sunn/fender 1200s and remembered seeing a thread here along these lines.
Note the the "mods" done at last service as recommended by fender...yuk ! big blobs of rubbery sealant and plastic sticks stuck and screwed to various parts...Nice jobI guess if it looked like it had the potential to vibrate it got Glued !

yeah, i've had four Studio bass amps over the years. i converted this one to a head/cab configuration to make it a bit easier to transport. i used a JBL E140 in the cabinet.

I also built up another one using a Super Twin for the head (its basically the exact same amp as a studio bass), but on this one i used a bassman 100 cab loaded with two JBL K140's. this one really puts out alot of sound (power!)

Jeez !!You said Guts right? Here is what happened to my wt 800 (updated from a wt 500) when it flew out the back of my truck and someone drove over it. I guess it was hit a few times because when I got home I went to bring it in the house and thats when I saw it was gone. Drove over 30 miles and found it. It was in a rack. Rack in pieces. Ouch. The guts all over the place. Here is the pick for my good friend who started this thread.
Does anyone have some high quality pics of an Ampeg SVT 2 Pro?
