One startling discovery (for me): how good the rig sounds when I'm sending the pedalboard through the fx loop. I've never been a fan of loops, actually never used them in a band context, only a few cursory tryouts at home and almost everything I've read about them told me not to bother. But this one's something else ! Another benefit: it quiets everything down, to the point of being practically noiseless, as opposed to using the regular input.

Is there a settings thread somewhere ? I started browsing over the 83 pages, but haven't seen one. Always nice to see how fellow bassists use it. I'm using flat settings for now, which seem to work well, but I'm still searching for a good midrange / frequency combo.

That certainly is the case with the V-4B (and I presume the 20/50T, but we have not measured those yet), but not the 7Pro.

Interested to see what you come up with for the PF50T, but to my ears, it might as well be a V4B. But I keep my 7 Pro in our drummer's storage unit because it's pretty much exclusively an amp I use only when we take his trailer to a gig or when someone we work with demands a tweetered cab and a non-tuber, so I don't get to experiment on it so much.

I know the gain staging is a little different, and of course the output sections are different - though in theory similar - but it is my understanding that the tone stack is identical between the V-4B and 50T. That is certainly how it sounds to my ears, as well.

Played a good variety of four and five string fretted and fretless basses through it, and it seems to cover pretty much any style I can think of. I use the 410 HLF Classic, mostly with the horn turned off, eq either flat or mid knob cranked, gain two/three o'clock and volume anywhere in between. Kinda my go-to Pbass sound. With a Jbass, I do a lot more knob twisting to find different tones, but they all sound good. Very user friendly!

2 y.o. post, but I'll take a shot at it anyway...
I also use 7PRO with a 410 HLF Classic and while just about everything I read says not to worry about blowing speakers, as long as I don't go nuts on the master volume, I'm still nervous about it. I'm curious, what are your settings, particularly for the gain & master volume ?

OK.... I just spent the better parts of my playing time of the last 4 days to read all 84 pages of this thread. Yessir. Learned a lot, noted a few settings to try out, saw that more than a few guys use exactly the same head/cab combo I use, a few even use a VTDI for grit, same as I.

I also bought a dolly to give it a few inches in height and tilt it back a bit (the dolly is short two inches in width, so the wheels fall back).

I had my first rehearsal with it last Thursday and, as you can see in my previous posts, I'm a bit weary as to how much I can push the 7PRO with the cab I'm using. I spent the rehearsal watching and hearing for potential problems signs, which affected my playing and pleasure, but I'm a bit of a worry wart.

I've read all received responses to my questions and thanx to you guys' input, I'm learning more about it. I'm absolutely in love with the tone I'm getting out of it, it's just going to be a matter of getting through the learning curve.

I'm now playing with the fx loops. If I get it correctly, any mix knob setting between 9 and 3 o'clock seem to slightly bring the volume down, as opposed to anything before 9 or after 3.

So here's my question: is there actually a sweetspot for the mix knob, or we go according to ears ?
