Anyone on TB know any famous musicians?

My dad owned a bar in the 90's, was friends with many many many famous musicians (In fact, Ian Astbury (from The Cult) lived in our house for two months.) My dad had Blink 182, System of a Down, Deftones, etc. all the epic bands from back in the day in his bar playing all the time! (I have a bunch of pictures of his old flyers, I'll see if I can find the picture on my FB) Also my dad was in the room when Mick Fleetwood meet john (or maybe stevie, I'll have to ask my dad) and lindsey (who were friends of my dad) who later became part of fleetwood mac. How those three meet was Buckingham Nicks were recording their new album in studio B and the door was open, they were all in the room, and Mick walked by on his way to studio A (since you had to walk by B to get to A) and popped in and the rest is history.
As for myself, the bassist for Linkin Park (Idk if he is still with them, I dropped LP after MTM) went to my church, talked with the guy a few times.

The current bass player for Survivor just bought a failing music shop about 20 minutes from my house. He got the place back up and running too. He is really an awesome guy and he knows a lot about almost any instrument you bring to him. The place is called Dynamite Music in Griffith, Indiana. Check the place out if you are in the area.
I saw Molly Hatchett open for Triumph in the 80s and I was in about the 4th row on the side, the bass player looked over and I held my beer up and he nodded at me, then later I was coming back from an ill timed bathroom break and he was standing in the doorway watching triumph and I chatted him up, seriously cool dude, although I'm not sure if it was your buddy in the 80s or not.
I used to go see Chastain in Cincinnati, if I'm not mistaken Pat O'Brien of Cannibal Corpse played rhythm for him at least one gig, Pat was a great player as well, I actually found a Chastain vinyl record from a radio station selloff here, he was pretty badass, he had a great drummer too who would twirl both sticks and it looked like an airplane..russell something maybe.
My best friend and former guitarist got guitar lessons from Chris Letchford (Scale the Summit) and got to eat at Denny's with Tosin Abasi and the rest of the guys from Animals as Leaders. I've hung out at Chris Letchford's house before, guy has rooms full of shirts and other merch they sell....also has a giant dog that scared the crap outta me lol
I have hung out with a lot of famous musicians. The most legendary musician I know in my opinion is my great uncle... Don Nix.
The guitar player in my first real gigging band was David Rosser, who was Greg Dulli's guitar player in the Afghan Whigs and in the Twilight Singers. He is now playing with Terry Mcdermott and the Bonfires. We played all over the Southeast together. We were barely 19 and couldn't believe that we were making a living (at least that's what we thought) playing music. We were and still are great friends. David is one of the most talented all-around guitar players I've ever heard.
Oh yeah, I've also gotten to play a tune with B.B. King and Johnny Paycheck once gave me a ride in his Cadillac after my truck broke down on a Tennessee interstate!
I spent a 12 hour flight across the pacific sitting next to the guitar tech from Reel Big Fish... He had a couple of interesting stories...

While I wouldn't say we are friends, I don't hang out with him, or even have his phone number. I know Dug Pinnick well enough to shake his hand and have a short conversation when I see him out and about, which is rather often. He is a really cool dude.

Someone mentioned Survivor and it reminded me, my dad used to be Jimi Jamison's mechanic. Also Cybil Shepherd and Isaac Hayes. My dad's a Cadillac guy.
I sat in with Rufus Thomas once. I was in high school. We played Walkin The Dog.
Went to high school with Eric Gales. He had a hit in '91 called Sign of the Storm. He was supposed to be the second coming of Hendrix. Black kid, played lefty strung righty. Super talented guy, he played drums in jazz and marching band. I think he puts a record out with Mike Varney every couple of years.
The guys from Saliva were in the same social circle as me, but we weren't really friends. They're a couple years older than me.

My uncle and my drummer's stepfather were private investigators working the case and they both thought they had evidence to support his claims. But, no, I never really bought it. He had some talent as a musician for sure, but his character flaws made it hard to believe much of what he said.
If it ever came out that it was true, I wouldn't be completely shocked, but I'd be surprised.

Did a series of shows opening for John Lee Hooker. He use to take the band out for dinner now and then. Nice fellow.
Opened a few shows for Muddy Waters. We shared dressing rooms each time. Nicest guy I ever met. We talked a lot.

I know Duff Mckagan through my dad, they're good friends, and I was going to meet johnny thunders but he died just months before we were planning on meeting him, my dad was friends with Johnny, too. My dad knew a ton of people, my mother also dated the singer of alice in chains. Finally, my dad was also friends with the ramones, mostly Joey though. My dad was the bassist and sometimes in guitarist in Napalm Beach, guitarist in Willard, guitarist in Eve's White Horsemen, Guitarist for the Space Cretins and played on stage with johnny thunders twice, and once with Link Wray. He still plays today in his band The F-Holes.
I'm friends with the cousin of one of the guitarists in Every Avenue, and my Ibanez once toured Europe with a guy that used to be in Iron Maiden. But that's about it.
