According to the Peavey Combo 300 instruction manual, their 'punch' control adds 8dB at 120Hz. Boosting at or near that center on other gear gives me similar results. This is one thing I learned very early on and it has stuck with me and been useful in every aspect of my playing from small rooms (ie my wife is out of the house what one knob do I turn to hear the sound I want) to larger (we are on a larger stage than we're used to and the drummer can't feel it enough for us to lock in).

So, one more answer to add to the pile. ;-)

I asked a simple question not even a day ago. I offered to share what works for me and it turned into a fricken troll fest.
Not once have I come on here without giving genuine replies or asking genuine questions.
At every turn I have some know it all trying to call me out or telling me what I'm saying is impossible or I'm crazy.
Last time I posted the proof and they ALL went silent. Funny how that works.
