I've posted these pics before, but never in this thread. I gig my S15D/S15XD stack every weekend with either a GK 800RB, GB Streamliner 900, or Mesa Walkabout. I love the sound I get from them!

It's an Empress ParaEQ w/ boost. I run it on songs were I want a serious bass heavy tone, like reggae stuff or anything with authoritative bass. It's pretty awesome. I know some people on here run them into the loop of the Streamliner to defeat it's preamp, essentially turning it into a Shuttle w/ a para EQ. I basically end up with 3 different tones using that pedal with the stomp of a switch. Basic bass/amp only, a different EQ, and a different EQ & more volume.
The cables are just Canare GS-6 and Neutrik connectors with yellow techflex on the outside. The yellow kinda makes them look tweedish. I bunch of bunch of parts from my local electronics store and made them myself. Speaking of which, I need to make a few more...

and the cubes will deliver down low with some healthy reggae lows eq'd into the mix? i ask because i'm seriously considering a pair. i live on the dark and low side of town (think a B3 player's left hand and feet), and my s15d-l delivers that Big Time for a single 15. i've yet to play with a drummer who didn't completely flip over the tone of that cab. so, if i can dial in a pair of cubes to deliver that kinda booty without protest i'm sold....

You're probably not going to get sub bass type sounds from them. Other cabs can easily deliver more lows, but they happen to work perfectly for what I do. By "bass heavy and authoritative" I just mean that you can easily hear the bass, and I like to be a little loud.
I'm also running a GK 800RB which has a pretty substantial low roll off and a P bass which is more known for mids than lows. Adding in some lows with the ParaEQ put some of those lacking frequencies in there, but it's also the way my whole band is EQ'd which attributes to perceived lows more than anything. I can't remember off the top of my head what freq I'm boosting with it. Somewhere between 40hz and 100hz would be my best guess. When I want more I'll engage the boost on the pedal.
I'm starting to think that Bag End cabs are similar to a P bass in the amplification world. They fit in the mix perfectly. They don;t have the lowest lows...or the highest highs, but what they do they do very well.
ok thanks. that's precisely the reason i love them too. i first heard john pattitucci playing them with chick corea in the 80's and the tone floored me. i was up close and hearing the stage sound, in fact i walked up to the front specifically to hear them up close because i could'nt believe how great his tone was on upright and electric. i did'nt see them for awhile after that. then, in the mid-90's, when i moved to this area every time i walked into a club, immediately noticed the bass tone and said "damn that's Nice", when i finally glanced over it was a Bag End. and i mean every single time! back then there was a bunch of guys using them in the dc/b'more/annapolis region, usually just a single S15 cube, sometimes two. usually with a gk400 head. the 5th or 6th time it happened is when i decided to pull the trigger too. they just sound so Right: a stone simple box, built like a nuclear silo, one simple hole in the back and one truly great sounding 15" driver. i ran with a mesa diesel 606/ev15B(a retrofit from the stock L) for many years before that. i am now set for life
Hey there Bag Enders! I ran my new to me, Q10B-C last night with the band. Wow! What a difference from the Mesa PH115's I've been running. It's the older, black carpet 410. The deep cab series, with no tweeter. Bag Ends aren't known especially for providing super deep lows, but this model does it in spades!
For grins, I brought along a S15-D cab that's loaded with an Eminence Delta 15, modified further with a small tweet set into the upper right hand corner. I hooked it up on the second set along with the 410 and the rig turned into an absolute beast! Super deep, super punchy, and clear as a bell. Pushing the cabs with a Genz 12.0 Shuttlemax, one cab per side, both are 8 ohms.
One huge difference that was immediately apparent, was how much lower I could run the master on the Genz. With the Mesas, I had been keeping the master around noon and found the limiter light flashing fairly often.
With the BE's, the master was only around 8:30 - 9:00 and I was still on the verge of being too loud. 
I had originally planned to pick up a 210 to go along with the Q10, but after listening to the rig with the 15, I really don't see the need to.
I know conventional wisdom is a 15 is a bad pairing with 410's, but I was able to go out front since we had another band sit in and play a few tunes. I made it a point to wander around the room and really listen to the cabs. Very consistent no matter where I was in the room. Thick, clear, punchy, tone heaven, for me at least.
Now I just need to decide on whether to leave the Eminence 15 in the box, or order the proper replacement from BE. Thinking I'll probably go with the BE replacement, but it sounds great as is. Will post some pics of the rig when I get some proper shots.

Last night at rehearsal I decided to hook up my 2 s15Ds to the LMII for the first time in months. It was like meeting up with an old friend you haven't talked to in a while...
It just seemed like that combination had more headroom and a warmer tone than the MB500 I'd been using recently. What I'm trying to say is it was nice...

Count me in... I'm running an S15-D with an Aguilar TH500 and the sound is unreal! I couldn' be happier with my setup - if anything, down the road may add another 15 to the mix. Like others have said, fits perfectly in the mix especially with my G&L - rehearsed the other night with my guitar player and his words, "please don't get rid of this one, I relaly like the sound you have now!"
In two older threads Eminence techs were quoted as saying that the Eminence Delta Pro 15A is the closest standard driver to the custom they make for BE. The difference mentioned was (flat?) copper, rather than aluminium wire used on the voice coil.

i got mine from Bass Emporium in Texas, and they were great to deal with. but when i get my S15D's i'll order them from Washington Music Center in Wheaton MD and pick them up myself
yes. they are the best built and toughest cabinets going. i just can't imagine any cab being more bulletproof than a Baggie. only the old Joe's Sound and Salami cabs (New Jersey-ites take note) may have been tougher, maybe. you could drop an empty Bag End cab off a ten story building and it would survive intact
I bought mine used here on TB. They're not exactly the flavor of the month cabs right now so they usually go for pretty cheap. I got my pair for less than the price of a single new one.
