I've got a thing for "simple." John Suhr Classic J Swamp Ash & Maple.
OK, since you allowed me to post five - I am in. I am really finicky about body shapes, and LOTS of body shapes simply make me yawn.
I only play fretted 4 stringers, so I don't lust after 5, 6, 7 or more strings. Although I have seen countless magnificent beasts that fit that category, I have disqualified them here - because they are not for me.
Also, although I DO truly feel that - at least to me - some of mine might qualify, I have also disqualified my basses as well.
Here is a Custom Shop PRS #1181 which is a modern day version of his pre-factory basses. I love it but it has two strikes against it for me. It is fretless and full scale:

I love the Dragonetti from Les Godfrey and when I win the lottery I will have him build me a similar one with no magnetic pickups in medium scale.

So sorry if there was a misunderstanding but let's be clear on this. This is not my bass. I have PRS #11 which is fretted and hand crafted by Paul in 1977-79. This is a modern version of my pre-factory PRS made 35 years later - but it is fretless and full scale and available for sale now, in the PRS Private Stock Gallery #1181.

However, it's so nice to see someone else who recognizes and appreciates pure simple elegant beauty! The carve is other-worldly. I personally think that the symmetrical grain figure on #11, is nicer than this one - but of course, I am biased. We may all eventually discover that there is something remarkable and magical about a mahogany body and a mahogany set neck. When they are from the same batch - and directly coupled - it somehow allows for magic - in a completely inexplicable way.
Don't believe me, check out the rumblings in the Roscoe club lately about the merits of mahogany. Warm, rich, woody, but somehow punchy and as bright as you want it to be.
Just dial it in. But since it HAS turned into a beauty contest - sorry, I should keep my big mouth shut and let the photos speak for themselves:

Bass happy - I've always loved that PRS, the curvaceous body gets me every time. IIRC you also had a '51 PBass tribute that was a real knockout. How 'bout a picture of that one, pleeeese.
One of the few Deco Basses Steve Azola made. I sure miss him not building anymore.
