Bass or sex?

SEX!
Besides, switching to guitar would mean that the SEX option above became more prevalent, as we all know that guitar players get more interest anyways, so it's a win-win for your sex!:hiding:

Guitar players get more attention. But girls looking for sex often pick the bassplayer for that. Supposedly because bassplayers have a better sex drive and are less self centered (That's what girls/pillow talk told me).

Anyway to get back to the question. Sex is overrated, and often you'll have to deal with the consequeces of it. You can play bass again and again without having to deal with all the relational hazards, moods, periods, etc. involved in sex.

I always thought it would be because anyone who has sex with someone based purely on the fact that they play guitar, is probably to stupid to tell the difference between guitar and bass.

I abstain from answering the question until I have actually had sex however :bawl:

I get sex quite often, (long term relationship with children) I'm happy to do it anytime, my partner the same, but given the choice it has to be bass. Sex it is overrated, not because we get all hormone driven we cannot judge the merits of other things. If given the choice to have a great dinner with a nice pint of beer for the rest of my life every night I would choose that as well over sex, and the list is longer.
besides, as pointed so many times during the thread, you can always fly solo :)

I'd take the bass, because where there is bass there will always be sex. And unfortunately, for some of us, no bass would definately mean no sex.

But the point to the hypothetical question is that if you keep the bass you loose the sex. If you take the sex you loose the bass.

So to say where there is bass there will always be sex doesn't fly.

You have to pick bass OR sex.

Understood, hollowbody. But based on the logic I present we are faced with a paradox, where one (being sex) is solely based on the other (that is bass). If one chooses sex, he unfortunately will have neither (no bass = no sex). At the same time, one cannot choose bass, because playing the bass will almost always lead to sex. (Yes, I'm very happily married and the bass is what initially attracted my wife to me.)

I can see how playing bass (or guitar or whatever) can in some cases generate attraction, but by no means does not playing a bass mean no sex. I am sure plenty of non musical instrument players out there get laid. I was getting sex before I picked up a bass.

So if you had to choose between never again having sex with your wife (or anyone else) and being able to play bass OR never again playing bass yet going on as normal with the sex life which would you choose?

But, if the chick is there, doesn't that mean the bass won't be? Assuming I want the encounter to be successful?

On a serious note, this is the way I truly feel about it. I've dated several girls, one of whom wanted to go all the way (and she was pretty and everything), but I've come to the realization that I would vastly prefer a walk in the park, or cooking something together, or just straight cuddling. Never been interested in the primal side of things.

Anyway, /derail.
You, sir, are no longer allowed in this discussion. You'll skew the results ;)
