Did anyone say Alison Krauss yet?
In addition to the ladies already mentioned, check out Maura Kennedy. She and her husband, guitar wizard Pete Kennedy, are both alumni of Nanci Griffith's Blue Moon Orchestra. Since all their gigs evaporated with the pandemic, they have been livestreaming a show every Sunday at 2:00PM Eastern time. So far they have performed more than 800 different songs. That alone blows my mind.

Bass connection: Maura played bass in a punk/New Wave band when she was starting out.

If I had to pick a favorite, it would be Eva Cassidy. Here's a sample if you've never heard of her. She tragically died of cancer in her early 30's.
Susie Arioli? That’s not a name I would have expected someone on the other end of the planet to be familiar with.
Well I'm old (so I've had a lot of years to listen to a lot of music) and have wide musical tastes and I've always tried to list with my ears and see with my eyes. I have to admit, I know next to nothing about Ms. Arioli, except that she has a beautiful voice.
She's from Montreal and made a good name for herself here. I kind of assumed that not many people from outside Quebec would be aware of her but I could be wrong. I first heard her in around '98. I was working at a lounge as a DJ and one of the bar owners gave me a demo cassette from Susie. He asked me to listen to it and let him know if I thought she was worth booking. She was.
