Only reason I didn't put Maiden Japan was because it only has 4 songs. First time I heard it, made me want to be a bass player.

I agree. It is just an EP but it is incredibly full of energy.

Queen's "Live Killers" is my clear fave. Queen's raw power really shows in that album more than any other I've heard.

This one is from '74, hot on the heels of the release of Sheer Heart Attack, and my favorite of theirs.
Great DVD. A must have for the fan of their early material

You beat me to it! My favorite live album! That's the one that made me decide to take up the bass! I still listen to it quite often to this day. I also have Bosnia live but its too clean and processed! Don't get me wrong it's a great album but the first GF live album is so raw and powerful with in your face bass playing, it hooked me in back in the day and still enjoy it to this day!

Bitches Brew is not live whatsoever. I actually would feel safe calling it the most edited and spliced record in jazz history to that point. Part of its innovation was in the use of studio and tape techniques.

Definitely. But it looks like Anna-Marit has stepped up to the plate. Her personality has definitely bloomed. Her hair is longer, she's a lot more confident and less retiring, and doing the frontman thing really well. But I will miss Marianne's lovely voice and…um…visual appeal. But the other three can still hold the fort. I wish them well. They're fun. And that's refreshing for a change.

I always thought that Anna-Marit might be the best musician in the band. But love Turid on the Balalaika, it just sounded right. You can see in the live concerts in the last couple of years that Anna-Marit seemed a lot more confident when singing lead on her songs. They so need to come stateside again.
It'll be hard for any of the other three to sing Demon Kitty Rag and Hey Ho On The Devil's Back. But I haven't seen any vids of them doing that one for a while.

Turning Point was the first album I'd heard where the bass player carried the whole band and they played around him. Still one of my favorite albums of all time.
