Wow. If the mid-range presentation is a cut above that of the Flex series, that's saying something!
The Flex is amazing but I am a mastering engineer by day and bassist at night and the MAS 66 has my favorite crossover to date.
Each driver hands off to the next seamlessly! Gorgeous mid range, tight extended bass and just enough magic pixie dust on top.

Yes, I did know that about you, brother - that's why I took your observations with the weight they deserve and nary a grain of salt.
The 66+sub must sound glorious!

The 46 with the 110 is also silly. Put the 45 on top and it really sings.

Had to show off a pic of my new MAS112. It was built by Leland Crooks. Mike allowed him to build it, as it made sense because I only live about 35 minutes from Leland. I took a chance on a different look with red only under the grill with everything else black. I really like how that turned out. Can't wait to get it out in a live setting
I think the fact that Mike let Leland build this cab, just because it was easier for you, speaks volumes about his character. I really think it is awesome.

Thanks for the great initial review. I'd love to hear it with my Mesa 400, and a M6 Carbine (combo) I recently got. Not getting out of FL any time soon though...

The carbine should have enough juice to get it going. If my memory of the 400+ serves correct, it should run out of gas before the cab does. I think either would be a fun pairing
So I got my first case of dizziness from the 115. I started playing my Jazz bass instead of the Ric and took the FDeck HPF out of the signal chain. I think I lasted a minute before putting it back in and keeping it relatively aggressively filtering! This cab is such a big pile of fun.

Yes, the Red Label loudspeakers are no joke. Without the use of a High Pass filter (as indicated on the tag) one can injure one's self.
Maybe another demo unit should go to Mythbusters so they can revisit the Brown Note.

In all seriousness thought, I will definitely agree that in smaller rooms, an HPF is an absolute must with this monster. On the next big gig we get (I think Irving Plaza in April, but it isn't confirmed), I'm going to try it without any filtering just to see what the full effect will be like.

Be careful. With the larger MVW stuff the bigger the room the larger the effect and SPL. Yours, has a bit of a custom waveguide which changes the air impedance for better transducer cone control for use as an instrument loudspeaker. This means that the room effect and SPL gain will be less pronounced than in our PA subwoofers of the same size.I'm trying to, but sometimes it is so much fun to see what irresponsibly feels like

Been there and done this ^^^^^^^^^^ About three days after you!
My last two conversations with Mike also led the the outlay of significant cash. No regrets at all - the Shaw B-150 is sublime and I'm looking forward to having a matched pair of Flex speakers. 
Frankly, after hearing (and seeing) that video of you playing through that rig that you posted a while back in this thread, I can't imagine how anything could sound better!

The 66 seems like a monster. Mike's website is in serious need of updating! Neither it, nor the variety of 12's, nor the 15, are on it.
In April the entire website will be updated-----working on it!!!
