I offered to redo it for them (no cost), because I have pride in the things I involve myself in. They were nice about it, but basically told me to blow off! :)

Yeah - Scott considers it a personal statement of himself, as well as a litmus test of dealing with him. :D It's structured much the way he is mentally - redundancies and forgotten links and pages and stuff he keeps meaning to get to, but can't because he's too busy making basses.

It was lucky for me - he thought he'd purged references to an abandoned "Cortofusion" model until I stumbled across it and brought it up. It led to the prototype and the new model (I shouldn't say "new" - it's been a year).

Nice AC, cool that you helped shape the product line!

I can say that just reading their website, with all the photos, enthusiastic news updates... Really got me interested in their basses. It's really different to get to "know" the people behind building something you might buy over the internet. I probably wouldn't have bought either bass if it weren't for the "personal" feel and frequently updated web site.

I do agree it's somewhat of a maze though :)

As most know ,I love Birdsongs and also started the Easter 100 where the 100 TBers will receive $5,000 toward a bass of their choice when we win the mega lottery which I purchase tickets for(drawings Tues and Fri evening)....well I am extenting the membership to the first 77 members of the Birdsong club and will give each member $3,000....if a birdsong member is already a member of the Easter 100 ,they will receive the winnings from the Easter 100 as well as the $3,000 for the Birdsong 77........the Easter 100 winnings will sometime increase due to the amount......the possible winning amount for 8/31 is $30,000....so think positive and love those Birdsongs !!!:hyper: Go Birdsong 77 and Easter 100....I will abide by andrews list (numbering) for the Birdsong Club...so lets see it grow !!!!:bassist: Numbers are posted in the Easter 100 thread!!!

Excellent news CTB!

I can think of a great Birdsong to order for $3,000 ;)

Thinking positive...

Ben, your generosity of spirit and positive attitude is a constant source of amazement for me.

The only flaw I can see in your plan is that with the number of Birdsongs you own, are there really 77 other Birdsongs out there in circulation. ;)

I think I'm gonna cry.....

Hit it soon. CT.... It'll pay for my Corto!

Sweet CT! Thanks and thinking POSITIVE!

On a different note, I have a couple questions for ya CT. What kind of flatwounds are on Fiery Kim? Also, do you have a fretted Sadhana with flats on it? If so, how does it sound and compare to Sadhanas with rounds?

The reason I ask is that I'm trying flats for the first time on my Warwick and I'm diggin the sound. I've been toying with the idea of having Scott put flats on mine and was looking for opinions. I'll eventually talk to Scott about this. Any input is appreciated :D

On Fiery Kim, I have Fender 9120M taperounds and my daughter loves them...Scott will be the best source of information on strings on the Birdsongs..give him a call or sent a email...i am sure he would love to talk to you !!!

:D Ha Ha ..there should be...there are approximately 110 cortobasses,( I have 5), 22 Sadhanas(I have 6) IMG_0168.JPG,4 Cortofusions(I have 1), 3 mesquitos(I have 1), 5 Hy5s(1 on the way) , I have a Chopper(Early Birdsong)Yikes, you dont realize how many you have until you step back and look.....so there are more out there not counting guitars and tone boxes, thumbrests and etc., so hopefully we will here from them !!!! :ninja:

Thanks for the quick reply CT.

In addition, I have strung the Cortofusion with both rounds (from the last of Scott's supply of "Birdsong" strings (formerly made by SIT) as well as the original setup with flats (D'Addario Chromes, medium gauge) - DEFINITELY try the flats. They're both good, but there is just something about the flats that does it for me. A Birdsong with the neck pickup solo, strung with chromes, and picked over the fingerboard or neck pickup with a 1mm or heavier tortex pick - what a great tone!

I haven't tried the tapewounds that Scott recommends yet, but I do know that for Scott's personal bass (that is taking him forever to finish because of work), his experience with CT's basses have led him to consider putting tapewounds on it, along with the hot Lace humbucker. So if you want to know about tapewounds - Scott is currently a VERY big fan.

I just got an e-mail indicating that mine shipped today. So, early next week HY5 #3 will be in my gubby little mitts.

Birdsong updated their hy5 page and they have a picture of your beauty there as well...

I think i know what CTBass means- i would really love a corto or sadhana fretless and a Hy5 :) From a practical standpoint of course, once you get used to and like the 31" scale, you want that same feel on several instruments...

Thanks for the input acleex38.
Looks like I'll definately be having a chat with Scott about this :D
