1 Hour Playing time notes:

Fast & Light. Sounds good, a nice earthy tone... need to try again at serious volume, but here in my practice room its too easy to get things shaking. Varitone knob is a mystery to me soo far... I hear the changes, but not sure what I like, where the amp should be eq'd etc... More to follow

Case fits in the trunk of my Miata (a sight I thought I never see.. a five-string in case in that trunk!). Looks and feels great, the wood has a ton of natural vibe with the oil finish. Narrow neck is on the fat side, so it fits pretty naturally into my small hands. I can't see the 15mm situation being an issue for me, within a couple minutes it seemed fine to me. I even slapped a few lines for kicks (to see if I could)

You know what I love...that there is only one person on this board in a position of having played a Birdsong Hy5 and can argue with you about anything good you say about it, and it's ME!

and I won't. :)

It's all about Controlling the Media!

My BBox is on the way (as is my Sanford and Sonny Bluebeard - shortscale fretless through a brutal heavy metal fuzz pedal...aw yeah!!).

Consider this otherwise worthless post a bump.

IMG_0188.JPG I love her-Hy5-02(Wild Leslie).......More Pics To Come !!!!:ninja:

My Bbox was a novelty for the first week or so - it has become a standard needed accessory for my fretless now. I got some of my most useful tones with the fretless through the Bbox on the 5th position.

This is mostly a bump post.

Still no news about mine...this is what the web site say:

8C-109 Still on the hunt for the right piece of Spalted Maple...

I saw that. I know it took months for them to find the right mesquite for my buddy Levi, and I have no idea what spalted maple is like for them to find.

Slejhamer/Mitch's bass (105) is into routing now.
