Was getting confused about stereo vs mono output of the GTCore. But the Boss GT 1000 website clears it up. So any stereo effect that is selected using FX Expansion of the GT 1000, is converted to mono because DSP requirements.

"It's important to note that the additional processing required to drive an additional FX block means that the GT-1000 is automatically set to MONO output when FX EXPANSION is active."

First that is only applicable to the non-core GT1000. Secondly that is a new feature that was added to a recent firmware update in the GT1000. We can hope they would add that feature to the core, but its not there now. This feature gives an additional FX4 module, but gives up stereo processing in order to do so.

When that feature is turned off (normally turned off), then the GT1000 is stereo of course.

So with GT1000 (non-core) its possible to use that FX Expansion mode and have end-to-end mono FX processing. But the core does not (yet) have this feature.

In the case without that feature, including always in the Core; some modules will be stereo and some will be mono...In theory if you are careful to never use any stereo modules, then you shouldn't have to worry about losing any material by using only one side of the SUBOUTS. If in doubt...then use the div/mix trick to sum it.

The MAIN out already provides a summed mono output as long as you make sure not to plug in the Main-L jack.

I had a distortion pedal in Send and return #1 and it had no effect. I verified it was turned on in my Chain inside the patch. Any Ideas what I can check to fix it?

Check this setting. Yours should NOT look like mine, it should be set to SEND.

@Correlli it's your thread so this is up to you.
Had a thought and wanted to see how everyone would feel combining the GT1B and this thread as well as adding in the GX100, and previous Boss multis for an all encompassing Boss Multifx thread? Most of us have/had/use many generations of the boss multis dating back to the 90s and the most active members are generally in the same threads.

I don't know what beck group is, but I can't login to get that PDF
Yep, not a good link. I did not need to login on the link I had. Sorry, will try and find it again and fix it.

Edit : I posted a new link , it worked but when I came back to it it gave a login page. Clearly I do not know how this stuff works :rage:

Edit 2 : I saw that link on The Gear Page in the thread "New BOSS GT-1000 Guitar Effects Processor" in post 9,923. I am NOT going to try and link that :D

Also I would like to know if and how it would be possible to remove/edit the not working link in my previous post...

I've already been through the built in cabs. Looking for external IR's now. I did buy the RedWirez Bass box which was only $9.99 and I have to say that Aguilar DB115 cab IR's in there are incredible and blow away the built in cabs on the GT1000. Well they all have a place, but Anyway just wondering what other external IR's people have been using with the GT1000 for bass.

I think I've worked out a way of using two Speaker Simulators and being summed to a mono Main Output.

I've turned off Stereo Link which separates the two Speaker Simulators, put them inside a Div/Mix with the Divider Mode set to Single CH A, and the Mixer Panned to the Left Main Output. Opens up a lot of new tonal possibilities.

And this is the two Speaker Simulators in parallel and panned left to Main Output.

I tried this and then remembered I’m deaf in one ear so didn’t really make much difference practicing oth headphones It does let you get a much wider tone though I think.
