i would think it a stretch to advocate prohibition of a drug based on the effects it may or may not have on people that are already schizophrenic.....
How so?
How so?
I believe it's a blanket term for a range of issues that stem from the same place as bi-polar, depression, anxiety etc.
If you would like I can explain in more detail later through what I've experienced, however if I were to go to a psychologist, I would be diagnosed Schizophrenic. I have seen entities, experienced OBE's etc. When it was first predominate, I couldn't distinguish between certain entities and geometric patterns at times, however funnily enough, THC and psilocybin helped with that. I was already diagnosed as depressed and bi-polar in the past, however dealing with all of those things without drugs taught me more about myself, as has this experience.
I believe all of these are natural causes of evolution and understanding our minds and ourselves![]()
While I understand and appreciate your personal experience in the realm, I feel that the actual codification of schizophrenia as presented in the DSM IV-TR with a long standing history of acceptance by the worldwide psychological and mental health communities holds more weight.
I can buy it if you suggest that Schizophrenia is a blanket term for a variety of mental and physiological disorders that should have specific identifications, but I agree with "doesn't exist".
Ok, back to the stoner talk.
Popinfresh, edited to include don't.
For the record, since I've been mucking in this thread for a while.
I'm ok with safe and legal for use. Not really a user these days, but I don't have any problem with those who do. As a guy who plays reggae music, you may guess I'm frequently around it in many forms and formats. Just not my thing these days.
I'm much happier to be around collie smoke than I am tobacco.
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Attorney General Eric Holder says the federal government will enforce its marijuana laws in California even if the state's voters approve a ballot measure to legalize the drug.
Holder says the Justice Department strongly opposes California's Proposition 19 and remains firmly committed to enforcing the federal Controlled Substances Act in all states.
He made the comments in a letter to former chiefs of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. The Associated Press obtained a copy of the letter, dated Wednesday.
"We will vigorously enforce the CSA against those individuals and organizations that possess, manufacture or distribute marijuana for recreational use, even if such activities are permitted under state law," Holder wrote.
He also said that legalizing recreational marijuana in California would be a "significant impediment" to the government's joint efforts with state and local law enforcement to target drug traffickers, who often distribute marijuana alongside cocaine and other drugs. Holder said approval of the ballot measure would "significantly undermine" efforts to keep California communities safe.
If Proposition 19 passes in November, California would become the first state to legalize and regulate recreational pot use. Adults could possess up to an ounce of the drug.
California, like 13 other states and the District of Columbia, has legalized medical marijuana. In that realm, federal agents have focused on busting dispensaries they said were using medical marijuana as a front for traditional drug-dealing.
"We will not tolerate drug traffickers who hide behind claims of compliance with state law to mask activities that are clearly illegal," Holder said in a statement a year ago. A Justice Department memo issued at the time urges federal prosecutors to pursue marijuana cases which involve violence, the illegal use of firearms, selling pot to minors, money laundering or involvement in other crimes.
