Show tonight at the Knitting Factory. Never played the venue. Never played LA for that matter.

Short set list of originals, and first gig together in forever (most of us are considering it our 'real' first). Should be interesting.

Playing under the bandname Breakhouse in case anyone in greater L.A. needs plans for the evening.

Well we were one of two bands opening for Sham 69 on friday just gone at the Railway in Winchester (about 120 people) the show was sold out, and we had a great reception from a very warm crowd the Sham 69 guys were using My Bass Amp and our Drummers kit as their stuff was on its way to Europe for the festivals they are playing. they were exceptionanlly grateful and a real nice bunch of guys.

awesome gig! you should've been there!!! :)

That sucked.

Blew my E string on the first song. None of the bands backstage would loan me a bass and I didn't have any strings with me -- because I haven't broken any strings in years.

Had to transpose every song on the spot an octave up. Got a lot of "wow, I can't believe you pulled it off" comments, but I still was extremely frustrated.

Crowd was good, venue was nice, sound seemed good. Murphy's Law just decided to kick in.

I'll be playing a couple with a few guys for the place i take my lessons. I think it's me and one or two other students, the guy who owns the place, and a couple other adults. We'll be playing Rock You Like a Hurricane by Scorpion, and Heaven and Hell by Black Sabbath

This will be the first time we play them with our singer and lead guitar:eyebrow: so it should be..... interesting :spit:

Also I'm getting a solo in Heaven and Hell :bassist: :bassist:
Its gonna be bad :smug:

I'm back. It was a fun gig. We played for an hour. Sadly, so one was there.


The band before us was awesome, but the one afterwards sucked. The one after us was some metal band that more than butchered great songs. The drummer couldn't keep time if he tried. The guitarists missed every note, and the bassist's tone was literatly a click, so note definition whatsoever. The screamer/singer was a mess too.


The only other thing that I wasn't to happy about was that I was told to be my amp. So I loaded that beast up, then I get there and see that They gave me an amp.:hmm:


While the guitarists got Mesa Boogie Triple reticifiers, I get stuck with a nasty Amperg SVT-4 and a Hartke410 cab. Sounded like a fart when I played.:mad:

What I would give to be forced to play through an Ampeg SVT-4!!

but seriously that should have sounded real nice. it is a shame probably one or more of the speakers in the cab had 'blown' (might be something else)

either way sounds like it was good fun.

Oh... My... God....

It was aweful, Rock you like a hurricane, we skipped like 3 sections of it, including the solo. Our singer didnt know it, causing inquiring glances between me and the drummer

Heaven and Hell, our singer didnt bother to learn it, so me and some 10 year old jammed on it. Before the song i said to him, "nod me when you're done kapish?" So he nods me in, i start jamming, and then he started again! i had no choice but to get back in the pocket and just back him up for 5 minutes of random noodling around while i could see the look of boredom on the crowd's face. Thank god the drummer was good and this hartke head gave me a monster tone with my SR4 HH.

At least our drummer was very good

Our weekly "Full Band Kareoke" was cancelled this week. It was rainy outside and the club we do it at is more of an outdoor type venue (even though we play indoors), so it was dead. The club owner called us up and said to take the week off. I agree that if there was no one there at 8pm, then I doubt anyone is going to come out at 11pm. That's just the area though..

Tonight we are at my favorite irish bar, Fado. It's in one of the "casinos" here in the state (Gambling is illigal here in RI, but they call it a "gaming facility, they don't have tables, and they give the state a HUGE payoff... typical politics). They have awsome food and great beer on tap. The manager usually ends up buying us drinks.

What's everyone got planned for the 4th??

Checking in after our Saturday night gig. It went great! The bar was packed, it was a fun, lively audience with lots of dancing. We kept the crowd going strong until 1am. We'll definetly be invited back, and will be looking to play here every month or so.

On a personal level, I played pretty well. A few mistakes here and there, but no disasters or train wrecks. My band mates gave me compliments on playing. I'm the new kind on the block, as the other members have been together for about 4 years, and I just joined earlier this year, so the compliments are encouraging.
