I gotta tell ya Sean, I sold it to kinda re-invest in other areas of my life right now.
Having a $3K bass right now, when I have a beautiful Valenti sitting there doesn't sit well with me any more.
I LOVE that bass, but I want to honor all those who contributed to it and also honor Him who was the Genesis of the bass.
At this point I'm not seeing myself with another bass costing that much.
In fact, and hope you guys are sitting down for this- DON'T flame me!!- but to cover the "Fender 5 string" thingy I picked up a older Yamaha BB5000....... cheap!
It's not the same thing I know, but it will do for now.
But mostly, I'm sporting the Valenti.
Plus, it's supposed to be all in the heart and hands right?!?!??

Is that the bb5000 with the narrow neck??
They narrow neck ones sounded great even though they basically put 5 strings on a 4 sting neck...
I had one many years ago.. great bass...I also had bb5000 mkll with the wider neck which did not come close to the tone of the original...

Yeah some dude emailed me, but I don't think it is the same smith he is looking for. Maybe not the same guy you are talking about though? I sent him a pic though, so we'll see. I'm playing it right now as I type, so it's going to be tough to pry from my hands.

It sounds cool, but I think a new pre-amp (Hmm, wonder what pre that might be
) and some pick-ups are in it's future!
I can have brass pick-up rings made REAL easy.

Yeah?? Lets talk Mike, I could use new pickups for my BB415 which might be a similar settup to your BB.

My KPB-5 was going to be Ice Blue Metallic but the painter had a blue problem - so it is a bit different. I LIKE IT! If anyone else wants that color they have to specify "Dan's Blue." Should be done sometime soon!
