Fair enough. A fretless P would be interesting. Theres a bunch of warmth in AC P basses in my experience. You'd probably get a lovely thumpy fretless sound from a design like that.

The look of that one just doesn't speak to me. I love Jimmy's headstocks in general, but painted black... not so much. And black and tort... just not my thing. Nice thought for somebody!

Jimmy described going for a black bass best. He said it can be used at a wedding or a rock venue just as easily. It's like wearing a suit Obviously, each to their own and ACs generally look classy no matter what. If this KPB was a suit, I've seen several other brands that are like hawaiian shirts

black is classy and fits in everywhere.

I have too many basses with painted headstocks and would preffer natural.

I'm intriged because it would be getting away from Jaco. That ebony board would add deffinition and bite.

+1, it's a unique, but very useful tone IMO. Great for acoustic/mellow rock.

Mid 80's, baby! I had hair, played a ton of jazz fusion and standards (real book) in little out of the way jazz clubs with monster players from the U of I music college, slept late, and partied hard. Those were some of the times I'll always treasure most. NAJE conventions, combo, big band, the works. I lived the music.
