I'm no longer an AC owner, but I played a P4 (KBP) yesterday. It was the best sounding "P" I've played and very warm for a P-Bass. I cant get use to the P-growl, but being so warm, this bass kind of tamed the growl. I compared it to Nash P...don't get me wrong the Nash held it down too, but the AC won my ears. I might would have taken it home if it had been a 5 string.

The dance band had a class reunion gig last night at a local country club. While the crowd was lame as hell, we had a great time. I brought my A/C LG5 and that new Carvin BX500 along with just a little Epifani UL112/UL110 "mini-stack". I can not believe the big phat bass tone I was getting. Nice round G string, big classic bass tone for days, etc. Yeah man, it was a good choice to get in line for one of these about a year ago. A damn good choice. :)

This is one drop dead gorgeous instrument.
No pick guard...way cool.

Thanks! Dude, if you think it looks good, you should play it. ;)

Here's the funny part... I got into the AC's because of two things... Ken's continued frothing at the mouth about them, and Tony's unparalleled grace in letting me check his out.

Before that, I was like...mehhh... ok, so it's a great J clone, but there are so many of those... until I actually played Tony's. :) Even funnier, the bass that officially "wrecked" me has since moved on and he doesn't own one anymore. :D

I would rather be described as 'unparalleled frothing at the mouth' please:p

Yes she is a warm vintage tint all over..Body-fretboard and headstock...In person she has the golden blossom honey thang happenin.
Go vintage tint and dont look back!
Wow, I can't tell at all from those pictures, but hey, digital camera white balance is ALWAYS an issue, so that could be it. For example, here's mine, vintage tint, but without a reference, it may still be hard to tell for some folks...

Hello Guys, I guess I need to be next in line for a number!

I have the green signature bass from the AC website coming my way tomorrow! The bass was made for Willie Weeks and used on an Eric Clapton tour..... very cool.

This will be my first AC so I'll let you guys know what I think once it gets here.

Just an FYI...I am listing my 3 TS Dalbergia Boarded LG5 that has 70's PUP Spacing...it is the ONLY one and it is the bomb...I am going out of the country on a tour and this one will not make the trip. The MD is a Music Man fan (as am I!) and I am taking my 25th Anniversary or a pair of SR5's...I did a session for him with the 25th today and he dug it so he is leaning that way...

GREAT bass to be sure and many have said it is the best bass they have ever played. The only one I think I have played any better is the Alleva 4 String that I had before the LG5...

Peace,

T

The alder/RW '70s spacing is a unique combination for sure. My SX J bass has that combination, and has a lot more mid presence and burp than any other '60s spaced alder/RW J bass I have ever tried. Not necessarily brighter, but more mid presence for sure. Is that the difference you have noticed?
