There's a Spalted Alder LG5 that will be at the Bass Player Live show next month. As of now, it's not spoken for.
Call Jimmy if it interests you.
The last Spalted Alder LG5 was UNBELIEVABLE sounding & super light.

The tort doesn't work very well with that color. I don't think black will either. However, a white or mint guard would probably look great. I like black guards on natural finish a lot, so that would work fine IMO if a black guard is key.

I have to say that the big reason I can feel okay about selling some vintage Fender basses (in the for sale forum) is the super high quality of work by Jimmy, Mike Lull, Carey and some others. Me and Dave A. have them in the shop, studio and at home. I'll take pictures next week.

Agreed, tho especially in regard to vintage Fenders in particular, Jimmy. Man does he ever have a handle on that vibe. Looking forward to your pictures!!

I should have mentioned I stole that pic from the classifieds it's not mine!

I don't like the tort at all with the butterscotch, I was thinking black but mint might work nicely I'm gonna have to search around and see if I can find a bass with that color scheme....

saw your ads and drooled for days. interesting since you are selling a 64 jazz and precision you must feel its no loss and the tone of these new basses are as good if not better?

Well the idea of a Transparent butterscotch blonde jazz bass with a mint pickguard brought up nothing on a Google search so I'm thinking this might be an interesting unique idea although I'd like to possibly see what it may look like.

In any case here are some interesting results of:

Transparant Butterscotch Blonde mint pickguard.....

MOD EDIT: Sorry, had to remove the pic of the girl. Was a little too revealing for TB standards.

I think you're the exception as opposed to the rule on this one. Do a google image search on "Transparent butterscotch blonde" and see just how "unpopular" black is as a guard on this finish. :smug: :D

I dropped the search to just the trans butter blonde and while I had to dig through lots of pics of black guards, I did find this one...

Not enough contrast for my tastes, but it does look nice.

THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!! For me, that is just about perfect. Talk about a vintage look! Again, IMO, and personal taste. But man, that on an LM with a trans finish and that beautiful grain... forget about it... perfect:bassist:

+1 I know they are out there, just don't dig it. It surely works and is also a classic look.

I still like shoreline gold better. Man that LM of yours truly does haunt me. :)
