Club Alleva Coppolo (Part 8)

Hey gang,

Thought you might enjoy a pic from the factory.
(L-R) My LM5, Derrick Murdock's KPB5, a burgandy mist KPB4 (available), AC Telecaster guitar (available)

The LM5/Rosewood seems to hit the nail on the head for me.
Glassy and Phat slap & pop tones.
Punchy and Warm finger tones.
Weighs in at about 10.25 lbs.
I wanted a tone similar to an Atelier Z that I owned about 10 yrs ago that was perfect for me except that it had 17mm spacing which i found too narrow ... (and it was not red !!!)
Jimmy needs to have it photographed on Monday & then I can have it.

All that being said, i'm bummed that I have to leave it behind when I go on tour for the next year. Call me crazy, but I'm thinking of letting Jimmy sell it and make me a new one when I get back to California. PM me if it catches your eye.

The next bass that I'm dying for Jimmy to assemble is CelinderMotoMan's 4 string. It's on the bench in pieces & looks great. The birdseye in the fingerboard is to die for ... (Sorry man, thought your neck was hanging in the pic, but Jimmy moved it before I snapped it) It makes me want an LM4 !!!

Those basses and that guitar are HOT. ESPECIALLY your LM5 with the blocked inlays. That's just SICK! A rosewood LM5 with the blocked inlays is in my future, too. :)

That P5 looks KILLER!

I had a pretty good weekend with the RA. I was running it out of a very tight, aggressive rig (Marbass F1/Schroeder 115L+) and that seemed to punch it up and add more 'growl versus sizzle'. It still didn't have that LM grind and punch, but it sounded good... warm, fat, and while still a little too pristine up top, the top end did snap through the mix pretty well. (Edit: I just put on some DR Lo Rider Nickels... nice.... moves that clicky upper treble response that you can hear on my clip down to a more usable frequency).

If I make it back to the shop, i sure will.
Jimmy had basses photographed for the web site today.
If yours was one, then he'll have way better pics than I can take.
He stopped by my house tonight after the photo shoot & your bass came up in conversation. It gets 2 thumbs up from Jimmy ... if you don't love it, i'll take it !!!
