In particular, I played a passive P-bass and it just felt "handmade" in a very good way. The neck was super comfortable and it played like it had been broken in for 40 years! It's hard to compare the sound with a pre CBS Fender without one there to A/B against, but it did sound great.

how is the neck support on the new incase compared to the old one? or even the portabag?

For me, the Slim is the only one I've got and the ability to move that support strip has been great. That's the main thing for me, but additional pockets and a bit different layout of storage makes the older one preferable as well.

All are great... very solid support. The interior design of the old and new slimcase is almost identical. The original bag had a nylon type interior, the new one has more of a fur type interior. The neck support is identical, and great in the Porta Bag also IMO.

This bag looks promising for the price, but I don't have direct experience. I've found the Protec quality pretty good though in their other designs. $125 list price... not bad.

Ken, I have been using that one, its what Rob Allen uses for the Mouse, probably the others, if you don't go with the Hardshell case. Its also, what your new Skjold will ship in when that blessed day comes. I turned Pete onto them.

I assume if Rob and Pete are using them, they must be pretty top notch. So, that would be a nice low cost alternative to some of the very nice but very pricey other options out there.

I assume you are digging yours?

Yeah, I sought one out for my Skjold after I received my first Mouse. Its also why I am not in too big of hurry to drop the cash for the Hardshell case for my Mouse on order. I believe Pete's will also have a Skjold Logo as well.

FYI, Theperfectbass has these for 96.99 plus a 5% discount for TB'ers.

I have the hardshell for my Mouse.. it's pretty amazing. Kind of a work of art.

That bag will be a big seller if they get the word out that it's under $100, and similar in design to the wonderful PortaBag and Slim Bag. Nice! I'll look forward to checking one out when my 'on order' Skjold arrives!!!!

As I understand it Roger designed the Portabag...I would suggest you call or email the shop. He is very approachable and very helpful in any way he can be. He will treat you with nothing but respect and probably tell you most anything you want to know...I don't know who manufacturers the bag, but it is a great bag!
