Cliff, if you have time when it's done, I would love to hear a sound clip of the fretted version that's coming up. I've been wanting a chambered electric 6 string fretted bass that still has similar immediacy that you get from a solidbody. I just want that air behind the note and the wider sound that you get with chambering.

I'm with emjazz on the sound clip. Pretty please?

Can't wait until mine gets a coat of finish to make the figure pop a little more.

Hi Sam,
I got that fretless Rami with walnut top and can ensure you, that all those "upfront" pics of the unfinished walnut tops look kind of lifeless compared to the real thing after finishing. I was expecting a little flame in my top, but what I got in the end was much more than I could dream of.
Enjoy the wait :smug:

Yeah, I kinda knew that about walnut. Being from the same cut as a lot of the others Cliff has done, they are very lively when they're done.

Oddly enough, my Conklin looks kinda plain a lot of the time, but the figure really jumps out under the right lighting.

I'm definitely stoked to see and play the final product for sure!!! :hyper:

Updates!

LOL, where? I don't see any updates (at the moment).

Cliff sent me an e-mail yesterday saying that the basses will be done very soon! Very stoked.

Hit the f5 key on your keyboard and clear the cach on your browser cause updates ARE up.

Soon?! Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let me know, and I can post pics of yours if you can't see them.

The Bordwell 5er I got in a trade with a fellow TB'er. Rockin' the Austin Reggae Festival! I know virtually nothing about it except...... it's wonderful.

It won't change hands again till after I'm gone.

Very glad it finally found a home. Perhaps I get too attached to basses, but it always makes me somewhat sad when a great bass gets passed around a lot. I kinda thought about snagging it at one point when it was on sale, but I wasn't in a position to splurge like that. Very fond of that pickup configuration for sure.

I've never had another bass with Delano pups. I must say I'm very favorably impressed. The overall workmanship is absolutely top notch & the weight of the bass is next to nothing. If I had ordered it built myself I could not be more pleased. It's a keeper. I currently have a few custom basses on order, but my next one may well be another C.B. You just couldn't ask for much more in a bass.

Cliff definitely has a lot of repeat customers. As I'm just about to get my 2nd CB bass, I'm looking at a 3rd (fretless 7 string), a 4th (fanned fretted 7), and perhaps a 5th (something with a filter based pre to get an Alembic vibe). LOL, the only sad thing is now that I'm getting married, I might need to sell some to get more.......
