Club Fbass (Part 11!)

Hi guys,

Here are my two F Basses : BN5 and BNF5.

Link Removed

May I have a club number ?
:bassist:
Sorry, Mikey. I keep the roster in a hidden html file on one of my websites. I cannot really edit it and put it here from my iPad, so sometimes when I'm browsing here from my iPad, I'll forgot to go back to what I've already read when I'm on a desktop or laptop computer and catch up the club roster.

Gotcha now though. NICE basses and nice compliments to each other. I like that you have a maple finger board on the fretted, and an ebony board on the fretless.

Sorry again.

Just received this Beauty today, purchased here on TB. Sounds amazing. However, there is a noticeable hum when the passive master tone is engaged. [not talking about having the pup in single coil mode].

Is this hum normal?

Also, the single coil mode volume is about 40% higher than hum-cancel mode. In general, the overall signal output of the bass is much lower than my Roscoe

Is this normal?

Thanks

As of today I no longer have an F Bass since I shipped my BN5 to a new home. When I eventually find my way back to getting another it will be a four-string. Meanwhile I'll keep looking at this thread and drooling!

Nice! I'll get you a club number in a bit; I wanted to separate the thread answering your questions from the official welcome to the club.

Single coil mode is quieter, yes, but it should not be humming in passive mode.

The only time I have hums from my Fbasses are when I'm in certain buildings... as I understand it, the extra magnetic power of the AC/BN style pickups are much more sensitive to the power of a building than jazz-style pickups.

Today's roster update welcomes jibreel and his new AC5 to the club. Congratulations!

Congrats on the AC5, nice catch!

IMO, the hum is not normal... I don't have any of the sort going on in my BN6.

The lower output/volume in humbucking mode is normal... Thats just the nature of it.

I'm in late. May I please have number 222? Thanks!

You barely made it! Had mp40smg posted a photo with his notice, 223 would be yours unless mp40smg could have been talked out of it!

So you are moving from a BN5 to an eventual BN4? I've been thinking about 4 strings lately too, wondering if I should be getting a 2-octave 4-string bass for certain settings.

By all means, please keep contributing (and drooling) in the club thread!
