Can anyone comment on the differences between Asian ebony and Macassar ebony? Sound?

Hey guys,

Asian Ebony sits right in between Rosewood and Mac Ebony. It's a little warmer sounding than Mac which has more of a "hi-fi" high end and it's clarity and natural volume are a step above Rosewood's.

My BN6 was picked up by Dave (Ultimate Basses) on Friday. Here are the final pictures. Two pictures were taken by Marcel and 2 were taken by Dave.

Dave's colleague, Jason Raso will record a demo for their YouTube link. I'll post the link here whenever it appears.

I can't say enough positive things about the level of customer service of both F Bass and Ultimate Basses. In both cases, all of my emails were answered quickly (questions, pictures, etc.) Dave's price was better than other dealers. When I decided to add an F Bass strap, Dave let me buy it at his dealer's price without a markup.

Some bass info: Marcel advised it is 10.5 Lbs, which I don't have an issue with. Marcel described it as "so big & ballsy yet still very clean and defined." Then he mentioned, "Myself and George played your bass to make sure it met all of our requirements….and she passed with flying colours!"

I'm thinking thats the redwood/maple burl maple AC6 that was originally bought by Glenn at Austin bass traders. I was at NAMM the year he got it from George. He was a happy camper, and theres no doubt why. Ever since its been my holy grail of fretless F's.

And here's a pic from a few days ago playing this awesome charcoal burst BNF5 at Donovan's office! He was kind enough to let me stop by and try a few basses while my wife and I were on vacation!:bassist:
