Apparently the only - and will be only- alder body in this model he will make.

One of the great things about Moollon is that @Ultradust can often help shed some light on a bass. Like if this was in fact the only ‘56 single coil style Moollon P made in Alder, and if all others are made with Ash.

I've seen people say they've purchased pick guards directly from Moollon. Do you simply send them an email letting them know what you're looking for?

Been thinking about this being the only Alder 56' P from Moollon, because that just didn't seem right. I checked in on the FAQ Andi provided in 2019, and here is what he said about paint colors on the '56 model;

"Q: Can opaque 1960s finishes be ordered on a 1956 P-Classic IV?
A: Yes, although note that a 2-piece alder body will be used in place of swamp ash."

So I'm guessing yours is probably the only '56 Moollon P with a translucent finish on an Alder body? Either way it's beautiful!

Do you know the other thing that’s available are Moollon pick ups. I had an older PBase that I installed sat on and it really made quite a difference in the quality of the sound according to my taste.

I ordered a P-classic iv in April of 2021, and was quoted 16 months. I haven’t heard anything since I emailed in June. I’m hoping for spring of this year.

What color did you pick? Don't take this a bragging but I ordered mine the very end of April 2020 and received my P IV December '21. Andi was very responsive when I checked in. I know he's been dealing with some at home family stuff so I'd say to email again. At worst message Andi here.

Actually I just looked at my order again, and it was placed April of ‘21 so that’s my bad. Desert sand with ebony and tort.

Al good. I have no idea if they sell their pickups separately or not. The pickup on their PV is amazing. Good Luck!

I plan on sending an email in February to check the status, but I don’t expect to see it before the 2 year mark. I’m not complaining at all, just trying to set realistic expectations for myself

Absolutely! I put a Moollon pickup in my Lakland Glaub and it was a huge improvement.
