Club Sadowsky!!!

I first heard the tone on the Patitucci video. I loved the tone but since the headstock was not fender I assumed it to be a bass from some obscure builder.

Then Talkbass happened to me and after the facination with custom basses dimmed I started looking more deeply with the basses that never seemed to go out of fashion.

After reading hundreds of threads (I do my research) I got a UV Metro fiver, ordered through Alex and had it delivered all the way to Malta. Still my favourite bass.

35" scale (bass will be setup for ADGCF tuning and I thought 35" would help)

Anyone care to comment on the Modern's versatility and ability to handle a lower tuning? Heck, anyone running their jazz tuned like that?

Not much to add about the lower tuning, but I WILL say that I"m next in line after you in having dibs on any soon-to-be-sold M5-24's!!!! Dibs #2! I like the UVRW5 I have now, but am leaning towards the more mid-forward, 'modern' tone of the M5-24.

Yeah, it seemed as though when I was looking for an MV5 the only thing that would pop up were Moderns. Now that I'd like to go the Modern route, it's the opposite or they're all four strings. If a MV5-PJ pops up, well, I'm not sure what I'm going to do :help:

Not sure you are suggesting as much, but having owned an M?5-PJ and a modern, I would contend they are hardly similar.

I wasn't. It just happens that if a PJ5 shows up in the classifieds, it will potentially throw any and all plans regarding any other bass gear to the side.

And Vic, looking at the Metro route for now. Wish some of those were available...actually checked the Sadowsky site just now thinking I had missed something earlier. But now I see that it was all a tease :crying:

Woah!

They have a 8.55 pound Metro MV5 on the site! That's pretty rare, and if I didn't already have my older NYC I'd be all over that and have them throw the single-coils in there. I think the picture makes it look a lot more yellow than it is tho... they call it a vintage tint, not trans yellow.

Anyway... nice bass!...

That is a pretty accurate color for a Metro with Vintage tint. I like it! And so will Fran. ;)

Don't forget the stuff that's coming in!

They have a natural MV5-PJ due in April/May, which will come around sooner than you think, and it's currently not reserved. Plus, I think they can put stuff in the queue for you too.
