If anyone comes across a pre-owned Original P for sale, I might be interested. I used to have one. And now for the silly details. I'd prefer a 1 1/2" neck width and a rosewood board, but would consider maple. I'm open to most colors. Thanks.

I remember this one from years ago. I was always torn between an original P & the one I ordered. Something very special about the sound of the original. Going back to the roots of electric bass guitar.

This video posted today confirms they will be built at the Warwick factory in Germany:

The two top basses doesn't look at all like Metro or Metro Express... Maybe the Warwick factory will built more models. However, to keep the prices down and maybe go lower than current ME prices, I don't see how they can avoid manufacturing in the far east, IMO.

Little known 'fact':

Roger mixed in some of the NYC water that is ... according to most experts ... responsible for New York Pizza tasting so amazing.

Now, full disclosure: the polish doesn't taste all that great, but still ...

I'll take some pre-Germany Sadowsky Metros as trade.

So it would seem the difference with the Metro line is that they will be a factory build (albeit a great factory), whereas Yoshi-made Metros were essentially made on his bench. Does that sound right?

Overall I always prefer true single coils but will say the new stacked coil HC's Sadowsky is using now is much closer to that sound than the split coil HC's in the video.

Maybe I’m just one of those guys that loves the Metro split HC tone. I like the SC tone as well but not as much. Interested to hear the new HCs.

There's something to it. I'm on board with the same theory as applied to Wrigley Field hot-dogs.

Much like ... steering away from my derail because I'm a thread provocateur ... how all of the ephemeral qualities of each and every builder/shipper/whatever at Sadowsky Inc. ends up in the instruments themselves. I don't know if Roger rubbed genuine NYC pizza oil in the fretboard of my NYC PJ5, but man is it something special.

I just spoke to Roger and he has been at events the past two days in Germany and hasn't been able to do much else. He's going to try to get on Talkbass and respond to some threads in the next few days.

With only about $325+ difference in current pricing from a MetroLine to a NYC Satin Series instrument, I would think that the Satin series may become even more desirable.

• MetroExpress Line, manufactured in the [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] . The prices will range between 799 and 899 euros.
• MetroLine with 100% production in Germany, comparable to the quality of the [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] (here, for example, very high quality UV coatings are used). The prices will be between 2,090 and 2,890 euros.
• Sadowsky Masterbuilt: This series, which is also 100% made in Germany, forms the upper end of the range and is qualitatively comparable to [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] . The instruments have tone chambers, for example; special designs will also be available here. The prices are (without Custom Shop Options) between 3,100 and 4,500.
