Club Sadowsky!!!

So I have a couple NYCs and now a ME, but I've been wanting to get a Metro for a while now. Found a NOS 2018 ash maple PJ5 on Reverb for a good price and pulled the trigger. I'm also going to commission a 2020 40th anniversary NYC custom. That should "wrap" my pre-warwick collection nicely.

I was so close pulling the trigger on that one. I went with a Verdi white model 5 string. I love the color of yours.

this was a double win for me... the seller is a SUPER cool dude with a long professional career. we've already had a few phone hangs.

I'd like to get a "40th" myself. We'll talk at NAMM about this....

The 2008 Metro PJ5 I ordered on Reverb showed up today. I changed the roundwounds to Sadowsky Blue Label Flats, and I am very very pleased.

Question about the knobs. Top is master volume, then pan/mix, then combination pull switch for active passive and passive tone, then stacked bass & treble for active mode... correct?

Yes, that is the arrangement of the controls.

Just a thought for today, reading another post here about buying a bass (non Sadowsky content) that the OP has played or ordering the same bass sight unseen for a lower price. How different could they be? One comment was “I never bought a bass that I didn’t have in my hands.”
It just reminded me of the many basses I have bought online, and they’re all gone now. Just didn’t fit for one reason or another. All disappointments. The one exception was a custom build from Roger’s one time Brooklyn neighbor. That one was perfection. And then there’s my Sadowskys. Some I bought out of their shop, some were orders, some were pre-owned but I was never disappointed with one of them. That says a lot about the dedication of Roger and company, and the consistency in his basses.
That’s why I’ve finally come to my senses and will now play only Sadowskys. I have an NYC custom build , a Satin Deluxe and a new Satin build on the way. I think I’m covered for a while.

I played a Stingray exclusively since 1977 until around 2003 when I could afford to try a few other brands out.
Logical to try the Stingray 5 out I guess but I only had it 6 months.
Ordered a Fender Jazz with a figured top but cancelled the order and bought a Warwick Streamer instead.
Very well made with the bubinga, ebony etc. but playing-wise just not me at all.
Definitely a Fender man, so I bought a G&L ASAT (Tele) but didn't like it one bit.
Then I found a Brooklyn company like yours and bought a VW Standard.
Beautiful and the neck was alive. Definitely the best built bass I'd ever laid eyes and hands on.
But too hi-fi for me although I did get the action ridiculously low.
Fender on steroids? I ordered a NYC J5 and still have it in 2020.
Bought a J4 sister and never considered for a moment any other brand.
I share your Sadowsky joy.

Oh man! I need a new Sadowsky blue beanie! It’s pretty ragged. I wore it all day today at work. Even in the office it was cold. The new sales guy asked me about it and he said he plays bass and asked me if I did too. I love my beanie!
