Club Sadowsky!!!

I’m going to the shop this week to have some minor work done to my basses. I haven’t been there in years.

I’ve been dreaming about another PJ5 for a long time... but not a great time for me to spend the $$. Is there an OTC preventative I can take before I go? ;)

Why not sadowsky Duncan single coil?
BCC quote me 500 for a pair of AC pickups

I was going for what they actually had in stock, and Jimmy had some NOS that would fit this Metro. Wanted to have it souped up with singles and I’m sure they’re going to profit off the HC’s, which they can keep.

Lucky confluence of events.

Oh and it’s a MIJ, pre-Warwick version, which means I can say that in a pretensious manner, ringed pinky finger extended out as I sip on my genuine Kona espresso.

thinking a scarf knitted from Basque Wool is in order as well

Take the War Department with you. That’ll do it. Or I can lend you mine. Her stinkeye could ignite wet cement. And she is not a bass player.

My first Sadowsky is a metro express and I love it. I just recently got a Ny pj and its great to but the Metro Express gets more play time its that good.

I got one of the last Japan built Sadowsky MetroExpress 5 string basses. Ash/Maple. It rivals basses at 2-3 times the cost. Absolutely world class and belongs on any professional stage, venue or gig. I am infinitely happy and I've been gigging Nordstrand VJ5's for 10 years along with F Bass BN5's, Lakland, Modulus and a killer Roscoe. I've played a ton of great basses and the Sadowsky ME5 is absolutely first class, professional quality that matches my boutique gear.

It makes me want a NYC. Even though I get tempted by a PJ, I'll probably stick with a JJ configuration and go for an Alder/Amazon Rosewood NYC Vintage 5.

Here is my ME5 at a gig last night:

It's the best amp head I've ever owned. I went from the D800+ to the WD and haven't looked back.

I kept both... each a little different but both equally awesome. They sound great through just about any cab too. Especially two SW 115's. ;)

Interesting thing just happened... After I took off the flats off my new Modern 5, I threw the original Sadowsky strings back on - they hadn't seen a note. The bass sounded great, but felt I was missing something. For S's & G's - I just threw some of my preferred D'addario XL170's on that bass. Its absolutely beastly now! The Sadowsky blue label nickels are very tame in comparison. Not bad, just more refined and less beef. Kinda like they frequent a fancy salon and the Daddario's swing through a $10 barber. Weird analogy - Oh yes..

You have a couple JJ’s...
Think hard about a PJ. It’s awesome.
