When will the new Metro Express models be available?
Caught my eye as well.I see a Sadowsky 5 string on the Grammy’s tonight...AEROSMITH Bassist
...with no PG and black knobs. In my case, black bridge and tuners too. And pickup selector switch.VW model is a PJ on a J body.
I live in Australia and a lot of products are hard to find.
The Lectricare product Roger sells I managed to get in the UK (direct from Lectricare) but in Oz all I could find was Deoxit D5, not F5.
That's what I've been using on my NYC's so I hope it's ok?
D5 is fine. I used it on pots, switches, and inter-connections when I refurbed large audio consoles. I did use the Deoxit Fader Lube on the, well, the faders.
I’m well-aware of the many folks that use pot spray cleaner and their good results with it and that fine, I’ll never dissuade anyone from using it. However, it’s been my experience over the years that pots and faders develop quite an appetite for the cleaner after the first use. So I keep pots and OUTput jacks on hand and replace them if and when the need arises.
Being familiar with the Sadowsky reputation, I’m going to order a can of their pot cleaner and check it out.
As for OUTput jacks, when they get noisy and problematic, it’s usually because the plating on the surfaces that mate with the plug has worn off, exposing the bare metal which will corrode somewhat quickly. Cleaner and fine grit sandpaper will remedy the issue for a while, but again, I prefer to replace a problematic output jack. It’s easy enough for me to do.
Just my thoughts on the subject...
Thanks so much for the response. You guys in the US get a whole range of stuff.
I can't get or afford DR Sunbeam strings here so buy from the US.
Sadowsky strings are great but Roger's a luthier not a string store, so shipping is too expensive.
Lectricare products I tried in the UK as those guys sent me samples of 2-3 products, all very, very good.
Can't find them here in Australia tho'.
I did find D5 locally but this thread had me wondering.
All good now thanks to you.
So is it an official option now for the super p+j?Yum.... Wonder if they can be no pole
Very nice NYC skylineVery nice!
What's going on at the 12th fret ... a fancy inlay?

My experience is as follows:
If you spray a pot and it sounds good, but gets scratchy again sometime soon after, then it is time to replace the pot.

12th Fret Skyline Inlay: $400-$500 uncharge on a custom NYC. You don't see many of these in the wild. I really like them.
Thanks a lot. Did I miss the pricing sheet in this thread somewhere for the new Warwick ME?
