...And I just downloaded Shazam, and figured that out! So many reasons to dig your post - you sound great, I learn from watching your technique, I get a new artist to check out, and more insight on the P/J thang. Thanks!

Usually I boost the bass just a little bit. No treble boost and the vtc a bit back.
But on this one,
Bass 75% treble 75%, vtc a bit back. Balance slightly to the bridge pup. Sadowsky strings.

Agreed. My MetroLine and MetroExpress, (both made in Japan) had very good tuners, the German MetroLine I returned, not so much. The tuners were a bit ‘sticky’, I’d presumed they would become better with use, but perhaps not.
Personally I prefer the Japanese made Sadowskys to the German ones.
Same here. I got two of them and they both have that problem. Have you tried lubing them when you took them apart?
I didn’t. Decided at that point I was going to swap the chrome hardware for black and just replace with the USA Ultralites.

PJs are highly underrated. I love how they cut through and are fat at the same time!

I have owned 20+ basses in 30 years playing bass and I have never had a tuner go bad! from cheap ibanez basses to custom!
I saw an advert of a used fretless Carvin few years ago, and when I went to the guy to check it, try it, he apologised in the phone that one of the factory tuners was broken, and fell out from the head!! So he lowered the price, but I didn't buy it - didn't had enough cash for a full upgrade, thinkin of swapping all tuners, but it was a fine and really eyecatching bass...
Anecdotally it is apparent that there may be issues with the machineheads on a small number of the German Sads. People don't make these comments without reason. Probably a qc issue with a batch which can affect any business. I am sure that Warwick will have noted these comments and taken action to address any problems. It is a strength of this forum that we can rest assured that the man himself will also be watching. In my experience with such things the ease with which issues are addressed depends on the integrity of the music store. I was once told that an obvious problem I had with a Fender neck was that it needed to settle and to give it two years before they would assist in any way!
depends. What are all the wood chips from? The truss rod part should be easy replacement, but where did all that wood come from?
