There is a perfect bass in the shop that I absolutely love right now but I wouldn't be able to afford it since teaching/gigging wouldn't produce enough in 30 days (still in high school). I can get within $600 of the final price...so looks like having a new one built would solve my problem since I can most def. gather $600 in 6 months

Granted, these are not fancy like the NYCs but I think they are pretty classy! And it's a nice comparison between the aging nitro neck of M563 and the spanking new maple on M2215. Thanks to all club members who helped me finally decide on a P!

This one hurt a lot! I hated to do it but I'd rather see somebody else with it than have my soon to be ex's lawyer! DIVORCE...What a pain in the bass closet! Unfortunately I may have some other tasty bits up in the Classifieds so keep an eye out. Enjoy the bass bro! For anyone out there thinking about a PJ, bikeplate is right it KILLS! Great bass and I will have another one! This one was exceptional but they haven't quit making them yet!

I'm still holding out hope that Roger will decide to do a Hybrid P/J 5. Although I do prefer the J body. The nicest Sadowsky I've ever played (other than my own) was Hugh McDonald's Oly White P/J 5. That bass was IT, man! I played it at the shop through the SA200 210/410 rig, and I'm getting goosebumps just off the flashback.

Maybe you can help me with this one then. I am pretty certain, but does the NYC shop makes the PJ-5 but with a P neck? The one thing that held me back from the Hybrid(waiting for the 5) is there was no P neck. I tend to like the thicker necks.

If by "P neck" you're talking about nut width, they offer different nut widths. I think they might also offer different fingerboard radii, but if you're talking about some different kind of neck profile, as in the depth of the "C", I'm not totally sure, but I think there's just the one.

Remember, one of the biggest diffs between the Metros and the NYCs is all the custom options you can get on the NYC.

NYC questions, huh? Did you just come across 4K you don't know what to do with? :)

You can get NYC PJ's both in 4 and 5 string versions. Typically the J body PJ's have J necks and the P body PJ's have P necks, but as NYC's have more options than Metro's, I'm pretty sure you can get a P neck on a J body and vice versa.

The Metro Hybrid 4 has a P body (the only Metro that does) and a J neck. P width necks are not available on any Metro. I'm assuming the 5 will be the same...P body with a J width neck.

Ok, I'm familiar with all this, but as you probably know, there's lotsa diffs between a FENDER J and P neck, but I THINK the way Sadowsky classifies these is just nut width (for a 5, 1 3/4 for a J, and 1 7/8 for a P).

One thing I'm sure of, however, is 1 7/8 is "standard" nut width for a Sadowsky. I remember Nino posting about that as well as seeing it elsewhere.

So nut width is the difference? Not the overall thickness? Vic, player you Fender Deluxes, I liked your P neck better.

You mean than my older ADJV? That might have been just an age difference between an '02 and an '06 if you're talking about neck profile. Fender shows both necks as a "Modern C", but nut widths are different.
