Cocky "musicians" in the Audience.

Don't know what is up with my photobucket, but to be fair, here I am in all my female glory Saturday night:

You guys have some awesome comeback lines btw... definitely stashing those for later... and I REALLY hope that dude wasn't hitting on me because looking like a crybaby at your bar table definitely doesn't do it for the chicks... ;)

From the OP, it sounds to me like the d-bag didn't know who was the bass player he was dissing.

People like that, I find to be not worth the trouble it takes to scrape them off my boot. Most I ever usually give them is a shrug. Sometimes I'll ask where/when their next gig is, but even that just gives them an opening for a retort. Not going to change anybody's attitude, anyway.

If the guy was any kind of 'a real man' he would have apologised after your show and given you a compliment or two.
That's a great look you have going on, btw.

I don't see why a 5th string would indicate skill, I personally don't like 5 strings because I would never use that low B for anything, but that doesn't mean that I'm suddenly untalented or something like that. I would have wanted to knock him out too if he pulled that crap on me.

I get similar kinds of b.s. for playing a six string. As said before, I have a gig, they don't. Who cares?

I mostly gig a 7...

OPINION... don't use one of my replies.

Drunk Dude (with friends): Hey man why do you need all of those strings.

Me: "Hi... I'm Tim... you must be a bass player"

Drunk Dude (with Friends): Yea... I rock (seriously the guy said this)

Me: You asked... Why so many strings?

Me: You have a 4 string bass

Drunk Dude with Friends: Yea a REAL Pbass

Drunk Dude (with friends): Gives his buddies the signals to listen

Me: (joking) well.. um... ... is it bragging that my wife says there's a string for every inch.

Me: (joking)... you said you have a 4 string Pbass... ... string for every inch.

His buddies busted out laughing and high-fiving.. his pals bought me a drink..... he became enraged with anger... and I spend the rest of the gig wondering how to get my gear out and my
