Subbing with NWS won't be a problem while I'm in school. It's not hard to take a week off to go sub with an orchestra. And it would be really nice to go down to Miami for a week. Especially if it is in the winter.
Congrats, RodierBassist23- how was the audition process for Indiana? I will be auditioning for schools next year and Indiana is my top school right now that I want to go to.

rob, please read a few of kingdynamo's previous posts. i have learned to ignore everything they say, whoever they are (at one point they claimed to be a husband/wife who both play in a professional orchestra)
I'm a junior right now and i dont know how many colleges to audition to. So far there's Michigan U, Indiana, Boston, maybe Carnegie Mellon, maybe Oberlin, and maybe Curtiss (because i heard they dont take german bow players unless they agree to switch to french).
If you got into Curtis you would probably want to switch to French bow because you would get more out of the teachers there. Who are both great French bow players.
If you are looking to pursue orchestral playing you should look at Michigan State more than the University of Michigan.

yeah, if you play german bow and get accepted to Curtis, they have a tradition on the first week of school. You have break your german bow and sharpen it into a spear and then dance around a fire alla Lord of the Flies. Then you are reborn anew, as a french bow player.

Hal Robinson (the teacher at Curtis) doesn't require students to switch bows. That was something the previous teacher would do.
I got accepted to Stetson School of Music, but I know I have my work cut out for me for the next four years.
Yep...My student Benjamin Harris is going to Julliard next on a full ride to Levinson,s studio. He is been only playing bass for 3 years but every lesson his progress was giant steps.
