Hi, I was just wondering, since i will probably get a new bass soon, what are all of your favorite color combos? Pickgaurds, bodies, inlays, maple or rosewood, matching headstocks? Colored pickups? Pictures please^^
I'm thinking about getting black, red, or sunburst, mim standard jazz. Maple neck Pickgaurd colors to look good with any of those?
i keep going back and forth between burst with black guard and maple to black and black to red and white to black and tort All maple... For a jazz bass All combos welcome, I'm open to other colors and combos
For the past 30 years, here's my favorite color combos so far.....I'm sure there will be more in my future
heritage cherry sunburst is where it is at IMHO but that is MY choice (you personally need to get a color scheme that works for you not what someone else says is good), however having said that it is even better if it is on a quilted maple top and matching headstock . color of plastic items like pic guards is not really important my epi les paul had cream colored plastic parts and it looks ok to me but black also looks goo ad sell, as far as pups and hardware again personal preference whereas my lp has chrome ( which looks good), I also like the ruthenium (also called cosmo black or black chrome) with heritage cherry sunburst.
Mine depends on the GAS at the time! I used to crave black, then came sunburst, then white, the natural. At oresent I am GASing for a Zebrawood finish, with some kind of tint. I also really like the look of maple fretboards, but have yet to own one. This would sum up my current GAS as far as colors go: And also this would work! The Sandbergs are out of my price range, but this is what I am currently planning to do:
Rosewood fingerboard, white body, nice looking tort guard Rosewood fingerboard, white blocks, seafoam body, white binding, white pg
For traditional Fenders, some of my faves are: Blue (sonic or LPB)/tort/rosewood Black/black/maple (not a fan of black/white/black guards, tho) Burst/tort/rose or maple Red/black/maple (red looks good without a guard) Blonde/parchment/maple (classic Tele bass look)
