Cool color combos?

now the question is.....
red or black body?

sunburst is out

Red body, black guard, leave stock white, or go gold? Inlays?

Black body, Tort, black guard, inlays?

/This isn't mine, but i love how it looks. I would need to mod a few thing from a mim, which i don't know how to do, so that means sunburst is out/
Seems you're bouncing around on different pick guard colors. Luckily that's easy and relatively cheap to change out.

And for my "anything and maple" theme:

My blue Precision with chrome guard:

The white pearl on blue looks awesome too, but it would look better with a maple neck.

..... how does one bind a neck?

It has to be done after the fret lines are cut on the fingerboard and prior to the frets being installed. Following this, most fret-jobs die at the binding, and some are cut through the binding (but is the least clean look) Very fancy neck binding has binding edges/crowns at the fret-ends.

Alright, hold on to your butts. I'll preface this by saying I am not a fan of maple boards, the only Fenders I like them on are the Tele basses.

One of my all time favorite colours: Burgundy Mist Metallic (and Gibson's corresponding Heather Poly Mist). I prefer the lighter, less reddish shades. I do not like the way they look with tort guards generally, I far prefer white guards, but black is neat too.

Ocean Turquoise Metallic (prefer with tort, but also like white, black looks too dark on this colour to me, not enough contrast)

Possibly the classiest looking scheme for a Jazz: Shoreline Gold, matched headstock, Bound and Blocked. This particular bass in one of my favorites to ever appear on this forum.

And finally, my personal preference for Precision Basses: the '59 look. Rosewood board, Sunburst, and a gold anodized pickguard.

Maybe i will go maple neck sunburst body black guard

Though the parents don't want me to get a jazz bass. They said that I just got new strings ( I wanted flats for jazz band, because I knew I wouldn't have enough for a Jazz this year)

Maybe next year?

Still looking at combos
