I'll do better than that. I'll ship CDs to any of you who want one when they are done. I'm really proud of this band, I hope the magic translates to the recording...
This is my first pro recording since the 80's. lol
Count me in for one.

That's very generous of you, Mike.
I stumbled across a CD that was made by my grandfather earlier this afternoon. He passed away a couple years ago. Listening to this CD makes me miss him more.

When they went to do the surgery they found several more nasty looking lumps. They did an xray and determined that our Bridget girl is full of cancer.
The vet thought that surgery wound do more harm than good, so now we will focus on keeping Bridget happy and comfortable.

I love that graphic - may I snitch it? That might very well be my next tattoo.

I didn't say you couldn't play your...oh, nevermind...![]()

Thank you for all the Happy Valentine's Day wishes, gentlemen. They are much appreciated from the cold, frigid, great white north of Boston tonight.
I would if you had a tad bit more hair...
I made a pretty sweet decision. This time next year, I will be at Springer Mountain in Georgia, going on a trek to Mt. Katahdin, Maine. It's gonna be fun. Conditioning and gearing up begins next week.![]()
Okay - this is probably the most honest truth in advertising I have ever seen. My daughter's caller ID displayed this on an incoming phone call from a telemarketer today.
I plan on hiding out the whole time though!
If I disappear a while, it's cause I am [DEL]home sleeping[/DEL] out partying.Well I was hard at it tonight......
Practicing! I know just what you were thinking but no, I was practicing. Band is coming over for rehearsal tomorrow and I needed some work.
Ok, quick check in, and comments, then some Thor news.
Ok, I am going to challenge you here. That's a priceless tune. Your turn to carry the torch.
Learn it.
Chart it.
Record it. (I'd be happy to throw in a 12 string track sometime). I am sure we could find a bass player here someplace to lay a track down.
Play it out sometime.
Make it yours.
Big challenge, not so easy. Not nearly as easy as it sounds. It is easy to learn a tune. It is difficult to master one and make it yours.
After all the tapes dry up, the records and cd's scratch out, and the hard drives melt down, the musician with his own tune in his heart still delivers and passes the tunes on.
You got lucky and caught the wind. Fly.
I know that feeling. It's like exercising. Just lay down and take a nap till the feeling goes away.
My take is that playing bass 1 hour in ensemble is worth 10 hours of wanking in the basement by yourself. YMMV etc.
Well I did come to the conclusion tonight (last night) that my finger-style needs a lot of work. I can use it in public for slower pieces but I convinced myself that night that my timing is considerably more consistent and accurate when playing with a pick.
I was playing through "Some Kind of Wonderful" which I can play but playing finger style it just sound flat and sloppy. Played it again with a Pick and liked it considerably better. At the last rehearsal the singer was not happy with the sound of it but didn't know why. Now I think I know. It's on the list again this week and maybe I will save it from elimination when I play it tonight.
