Very cool, Tat! Sounds like you had a great time.

I remember hearing Pat Travers' name as a guitar god back when I was in high school, but pretty much all I knew of him until recently was Snortin' Whiskey and his cover of Boom Boom Out Go The Lights (awesome straight ahead rock songs). But I've seen posts about him recently and checked out some live video clips on YouTube. I'll have to find a few good albums to start with and dive in.

I saw Pat Travers at the Stanley theatre in Pittsburgh in the late 1970s. I believe it was the tour where the live version of "Boom boom out goes the lights" came from.

They opened for UFO, this was the version with Michael Schenker. A great night of guitar shredding was had by all... lol

I upgraded to iTunes Match service yesterday. I now have access to all 4,300+ songs in my various libraries from all my computers, phones, etc. Awesome.

Today, iTunes is comp upgrading all the music in my library that was imported at lower quality or purchased with DRM built in to 256kb AAC with no DRM. Close to 3,000 new versions of songs are presently downloading to my main computer. It's pretty awesome!

Awright. Quick check-in.

Had jams Tue, Wed, Thursday so home stuff is piling up in the meantime. I am in good form though. One of the guys last night used to work as a Buddy Holly and Elvis impersonator, so that was interesting.

A RI TB'er asked me to sub this summer for a festival gig for a seasonal country band, guy lives in FL and works in Nashville in the winter, tours in the NE in the summer. Looks like I have to brush up on my Toby Keith Urban Alan Jackson repertoire. I guess the bassist also has a full time all year band that plays the local casinos and he had a date he was double booked. He said he might need a sub for more than one, too early to tell. Invalid Link Removed Looks like fun. My only date so far is 7/13 in Eastern CT. Tim agreed to the arrangement on Tuesday so it looks like it is on.

So now I can add "I subbed for a guy that was in a band that once opened for Brooks and Dunn, Charlie Daniels and Crystal Gayle' to my resume.

I had to cover for a couple of guys at work that took time off for school vacation week, been like helll week here all week.

I have a couple of days off next week. That is going to be fun.

She is just that tiny. Cute little thing staying with her husband, a nice guy, at the campground next to where I play Thursday nights. The sleepy little bar goes wild twice a year when all the bikes rol in and that time is getting close. I will be getting more photos then. :D

Now that I'm newly single (again), you'll have to give me the name of that bar so I have a way to kill a Thursday evening. I'm considering taking my son's advice.
