Oooooooooh .... sounds the only thing that will be left after you Thumpketeers complete your assault on me will be just the spent, shriveled, dried up husk of my current self.

Just the anticipation of that is absolutely delicious! :D

Spent? Perhaps. But that's a good thing. Shriveled and dried up? Those are debatable. We prefer to take excellent care of our toys so we can use them again...and again...and again...and again. Toys treated poorly tend to run away instead of sticking around for additional playdates.

Thanks! Pittsburgh would be awesome! You do have that amazing studio in your bassment just begging to be broken in....and there's Pittsburgh Guitars and Groovy! and Primanti Bros.....and now I'm talking myself into Pittsburgh, too. LOL. It doesn't take much, does it? And there's that thought of having multiple basses playing in one track.....I just think that might be sonic overload of the most basstastic kind.

Mike, you handled it better than most over the long run. Quite frankly, I'm not sure how you did it given the situation, but you did, and props to you for that. I'm glad you got the pictures back. Stay on the high road on the other part. What goes around comes around, IME. And you have Jackie now, and that's something pretty darned special.

We could have serious fun with the gear in my bassment for sure. (bassment is not a typo!)

As for the ex, I'm so over it and Jackie is a wonderful person. I look forward, not back. That Mary didn't come to see her husband in the hospital (me), when I had my first stroke sealed the deal and sent me out the door. I found Jackie a few months later and have a wonderful life. I hope someday Mary finds someone to love.

All I can say to the smokers who are now working on being ex-smokers is hang in there! It gets easier.

As a young man I smoked. When I started dating the future Mrs. BassGen she told me she was allergic to tobacco smoke. She never asked me to stop (her Dad was also a smoker) but for me it was the right motivation to stop something I knew I should not be doing. There were on and off times but in the end I won. I am very glad for that.

Ironically back then people would scold her "you are so mean making him quit." she replied "I did not make him quit." but she wasthe reason and I am grateful for that.

Awwww...thank you darlin'! Maybe someday I'll be worthy of an album cover. If not - maybe I'll just make the album cover because I want one. LOLOL.

You forgot this?!?!

Nobody "makes" anybody do anything. Sometimes the timing might make it look like that, but that's just not how it works, IME.

What I meant to say more directly is that I did it for myself, but in my case having a SO who was allergic was the extra bit of strength I needed to conquer the demon.

I knew what you meant, BG. Sometimes, to yours and THand's earlier points, the right person at the right time in your life is all the incentive you need to do something about which you've been procrastinating.

What? You're not coming? It's a party favor! Everyone who comes to the party gets one. :D :D :D

that would be a bad idea....with all the great bassists, I would get demoted to a guitard.

and I do not make a good guitar player. I cannot drink well. I am pretty much loopy after three (OK, A lot loopy). I would be passed out, cuddling with a 6 string, in the corner

Why cuddle with a six string when you could be cuddling with a G-string? More is NOT always better. You only need one string if it's the right string.

because I am a guy...When I pas out from drinking, I drool, and snore and fart, and my guitar is the only thing that would want to cuddle with me

I've never met a guy who didn't do those things when he passed out drunk. I think it's genetic. We may whine about it, but it doesn't mean we want you to choose the guitar over us. I'm pretty sure that's in our genes.
